三缄其口的典故
春秋时期，孔子到周朝的首都去参观周王的祖庙，祖庙在当时是很神圣的地方，一般参观者必须保持沉默。孔子看到庙堂大殿右边的台阶前有一个铜人，铜人的嘴上封了三道封条，在背上还刻着字：“这是古时说话最小心谨慎的人。”
