人人自危的典故

公元前209年，秦始皇在出巡途中得了重病。临终前，他命令中东府赵高写诏书，要公子扶苏速回咸阳奔丧。赵高却扣下遗诏，与秦始皇小儿子胡亥进行密谋。他们伪造遗诏，说秦始皇立胡亥为太子，逼令扶苏和大将蒙恬自杀。阴谋得逞，胡亥当了皇帝，称秦二世。胡亥拜赵高为郎中令，朝中政事全由赵高把持。胡亥和赵高生怕别人不服，制订了更加严酷的刑法。他们还大杀信不过的人，首先杀死了蒙恬的弟弟蒙毅。胡亥又将12个兄弟和10个姐妹一起杀掉。受牵连而被杀的无法计数。

由于秦二世昏庸残暴，法令苛严，大臣们个个提心吊胆，人人自危，朝廷一片混乱。公元前207年，秦王朝终于被农民起义军推翻。后来，人们以“人人自危”作成语，形容每个人都感到自己有危险，不安全。
