译文
天地永恒存在没有终极，寒暑阴阳相互更迭。人生在人世间，生命极其短促，就好比风吹起尘土。愿能发挥自己的才能，尽力为贤明的君主效力。怀着这样为帝王辅助的才能，卓越不凡，不同流俗。鳞介以神龙为尊，走兽以麒麟为宗，自己犹如神龙和麒麟一样，十分杰出。孔子删定《诗》、《书》后，王者的事业已经很分明。我用自己的文藻驰骋，以文章垂范后世，千古留名。
注释
天地无穷极：指天地永恒存在，没有终极的时候。
阴阳转相因：寒暑阴阳相互更迭。
忽若风吹尘：这里指人生短促，好像风吹起尘土。
展：舒展，发挥。
输力：尽力。
王佐才：足够辅佐帝王的才能。
慷慨独不群：指卓越不凡，不同流俗。
鳞介：指长有鳞甲的鱼和虫。这两句是以龙和麒麟的不凡，来比喻人的杰出。
粲（càn）：鲜明。
骋：发挥才能。径寸翰：形容大手笔。
薤露鉴赏
这首诗主要写人生短促，应该及时建功立业，传名后世。在诗中曹植不但对自己的政治才能很自信，也颇想在文学上一展自己的才华。

曹植（192－232），字子建，沛国谯（今安徽省亳州市）人。三国曹魏著名文学家，建安文学代表人物。魏武帝曹操之子，魏文帝曹丕之弟，生前曾为陈王，去世后谥号“思”，因此又称陈思王。后人因他文学上的造诣而将他与曹操、曹丕合称为“三曹”，南朝宋文学家谢灵运更有“天下才有一石，曹子建独占八斗”的评价。王士祯尝论汉魏以来二千年间诗家堪称“仙才”者，曹植、李白、苏轼三人耳。
