译文
年青时我涉世太浅，勉力追求功名禄位。
只为听信跃马年华，却恨没有超人智慧。
面临世事哪只是说说而已，累积仕历也并非不被任用。
既已缺少任我本性的快乐，恐怕还要招来背时的牵累。
明净的冬日可见远处群山，凝雪覆盖了山林的苍翠。
走出城东树林只见一片洁白，更触发了我遗落尘事的心意。
我惠连弟素有清高情趣，早就谈起过世外的情事。
想要延缓携手同隐的日期，可流年多么容易消逝。
注释
从弟：堂弟。汉贾谊《治安策》一：“元王之子，帝之从弟也。”司库员外：官名。《周官·夏官》有司甲，魏以后有库部。唐初亦设库部，后曾改为司库，属兵部，掌兵器卤簿等。絿：王絿，王维的堂弟，生平不详。
识事：了解事实；懂得事理。
强学：勤勉地学习。干：追求，追逐。
跃马：指获取功名富贵。多指科举应试。
出人：超出常人。
即事：任事；作事。徒言：空话；说空话。
累官：谓积功升官。
遂性：顺适性情。
负时：违时；不合时宜。
东林：东边的树林或竹林。
遗世：遗弃人世之事。常说明人的离世隐居，修仙学道，有时也用作死亡的婉辞。这里作离世隐居讲。
惠连：指南朝宋谢惠连。惠连幼聪慧，族兄灵运深加爱赏。后诗文中常用为从弟或弟的美称。
尘外：犹言世外。
携手：指携手一同归隐。
流年：如水般流逝的光阴、年华。一何：多么。

赠从弟司库员外絿创作背景
这是一首言志诗篇，写作年间为安史之乱前。唐玄宗开元二十四年（736年）张九龄罢相，王维对政治热情退减，这一段时期也是他生涯中一大转折点，是他后半生过上半官半隐生活的关键。这首诗就作于这一时期，反映了他这一时期的思想状况。

这首诗的开篇，干脆利索，开门见山，一气呵成，将诗人内心愤懑苦恼的矛盾心理悉数展现在读者眼前。前八句直抒感慨，亦是对诗人前半生仕途的总结。少年气盛之时，不谙世事，尽力苦学只为求取功名利禄。行至途中，回首走过的仕途，却是那般苦不堪言。“强学”、“徒闻”、“苦无”、“岂徒言”、“累官”、“寡”、“恐遭”，这一连串如泻闸之水般喷涌而出的用词，无不流露出诗人的苦闷之情。在这开门见山的畅吐背后，不难想象出诗人仕途跋涉中的艰辛与烦恼，那苦不堪言的心情，身心俱碎的状态。然处在这样的仕途漩涡里，又是岂能奈何得了的。想要“遂性欢”，却又害怕遭来“负时累”。面对世俗纷繁的厌倦，对现实世界的进退维谷，矛盾交织的内心挣扎，低首徘徊的他，究竟又该何去何从。前八句一泻而下的倾诉，将诗人的内心世界展现得遗漏无疑，在读者面前勾画出一位茫然徘徊，为人生追求而苦闷的仕者形象。
诗的后八句，诗人笔锋一转，转而描绘出一幅清新高渺、晶莹剔透的画面，压抑沉重的氛围戛然而止，取而代之的是焕然一新的画面，清冬的远山，清晰可见，晶莹的雪花，将苍翠的山林覆盖，天地间一片白雪皑皑的景象，几许透亮，几许静穆。如此心旷神怡之境，将尘世的繁杂与诗人内心的苦闷化为乌有，这才是他真正渴望追求的境界。“皓然出东林，发我遗事意。”这是此番自然景象给诗人的启迪，亦是诗人内心最深的夙愿。末两句是劝诫堂弟之语，堂弟素来追求高雅之趣，早年极言追求“尘外”之意，却仍陷世俗之中，诗人想与堂弟携手共同隐退而居，却怎奈世俗纷扰，仍有故得延缓归期，然时光却转瞬即逝，匆匆而过。末句看似对堂弟的规劝，实则也是对自己进退两难境地的慨叹，忧谗畏祸的心情溢于言表。
此诗发言旷远，用笔委婉。前后部分的巧妙转折，是一个诗人心灵与自然对话的过程，自然的开阔之境将他从苦闷之际释放出来。

王维（701年－761年，一说699年—761年），字摩诘，汉族，河东蒲州（今山西运城）人，祖籍山西祁县，唐朝诗人，有“诗佛”之称。苏轼评价其：“味摩诘之诗，诗中有画；观摩诘之画，画中有诗。”开元九年（721年）中进士，任太乐丞。王维是盛唐诗人的代表，今存诗400余首，重要诗作有《相思》《山居秋暝》等。王维精通佛学，受禅宗影响很大。佛教有一部《维摩诘经》，是王维名和字的由来。王维诗书画都很有名，非常多才多艺，音乐也很精通。与孟浩然合称“王孟”。
