注释
虎头词：指纳兰好友顾贞观客居苏州时所填之词。虎头，东晋画家顾恺之，小字虎头。顾贞观与顾恺之同里同姓，故以虎头借指顾贞观。
冷香：指梅花之清香。宋姜夔《念奴娇》：“嫣然摇动，冷香飞向诗句。”
标格句：意思是你词中表现出的标格，大约能被那有知有灵的梅花知晓。标格，风范、风度。
梦江南·新来好创作背景
这首词是纳兰容若收到好友顾贞观寄赠的梅花词后的答谢之作。顾贞观词作于康熙十七年或十八年冬天，寄达容若时是除夕时候。

梦江南·新来好鉴赏
“一片冷香唯有梦，十分清瘦更无诗。”这是顾贞观词中的句子，有着临水照花的灼灼之美，又冷艳的让人不敢亵渎。容若肯定是极爱这两句话的，他有欢喜，亦有叹息，就那般的缠绕在眉间心上意识里。梁汾之才，天地共知，然而中间却隔了一个昏昏浊世，以至他受人排挤而仕途失意，怅怅而伤。
“标格早梅知。”这首词，容若用了一个别致的写法，以梁汾词喻梁汾风度。清人况周颐在《蕙风词话》续编里说起这首词是“以梁汾咏梅句喻梁汾词。赏会若斯，岂易得之并世。”君之风情，梅花有知。此花不与群花比，只留清气满乾坤。“知”，是一个多珍贵的词，足以令人掏心以付，无言而落泪。生灵有知，世间的真情真义亦有知。
这首词本是词人为好友顾贞观新词所作的评点，但词人一反常理，在词中直接挪用顾贞观原词中的句子：“一片冷香惟有梦，十分清瘦更无诗”。写出来竟浑然天成，又别有情致。
顾贞观的原词写的是苦寒之中梅花清芳自许的绮丽身姿，其中亦隐含有自喻之意。而词人直接挪用，这种别出心裁的写法，热情地赞扬了顾贞观词作的美妙和高洁，宛如天成。

纳兰性德（1655－1685），满洲人，字容若，号楞伽山人，清代最著名词人之一。其诗词“纳兰词”在清代以至整个中国词坛上都享有很高的声誉，在中国文学史上也占有光采夺目的一席。他生活于满汉融合时期，其贵族家庭兴衰具有关联于王朝国事的典型性。虽侍从帝王，却向往经历平淡。特殊的生活环境背景，加之个人的超逸才华，使其诗词创作呈现出独特的个性和鲜明的艺术风格。流传至今的《木兰花令·拟古决绝词》——“人生若只如初见，何事秋风悲画扇？等闲变却故人心，却道故人心易变。”富于意境，是其众多代表作之一。
