译文
山谷口已是暮春凋残，黄莺儿的叫声几乎听不到了，迎春花早已开过，只有片片杏花飞落芳尘。
春去匆匆，山窗下的修竹实在幽雅，惹人怜爱；它依旧苍劲葱茏，等待着我的归来。
注释
故山：因诗人久居蓝田谷口，心中一直将此地视为故乡，故称“故山”。草堂：茅草盖的堂屋。
春残：一作“残春”。黄鸟：即黄鹂、黄莺（一说黄雀），叫声婉转悦耳。
辛夷：木兰树的花，一称木笔花，又称迎春花，比杏花开得早。
怜：喜爱。
清阴：形容苍劲葱茏的样子。
溪上：一作“谷口”。

晚春归山居题窗前竹鉴赏
《全唐诗》卷二三九与卷一五〇均录此诗，作者一为钱起，一为刘长卿。一般选本多编在钱起集下。
此诗开篇点题。“谷口”二字，暗示了题中“故山草堂”之所在；“春残”二字，扣题中“暮春”；以下几句都是“归”后的所见所感，思致清晰而严谨。谷口的环境是幽美的，诗人曾说过：“谷口好泉石，居人能陆沉。牛羊下山小，烟火隔云深。一径入溪色，数家连竹阴。藏虹辞晚雨，惊隼落残禽。”（《题玉山村叟屋壁》）春到谷口，更是别具一番景色。然而，此次归来却是“春残时节”，眼前已是黄鸟稀，辛夷尽，杏花飞了。木兰花比杏花开得早，所以诗说“辛夷花尽杏花飞”。一“稀”、一“尽”、一“飞”，烘托出春光逝去，了无踪影的一派空寂、凋零的气氛。
然而，在这冷落寂寥的氛围中，诗人都却喜地发现窗前幽竹，兀傲清劲，翠绿葱茏，摇曳多姿，迎接它久别归来的主人。诗人禁不住吟诵出：怜爱的就是幽竹“不改清阴”。“不改清阴”，极其简练而准确地概括了翠竹内在美与外在美和谐统一的特征。“月笼翠叶秋承露，风亚繁梢暝扫烟。知道雪霜终不变，永留寒色在庭前”（唐求《庭竹》）。“咬定青山不放松，立根原在破岩中。千磨万击还坚劲，任你东南西北风”（郑板桥《竹石》）。诗人们讴歌的都是它“不改清阴”的品格。在这首诗中，钱起正是以春鸟、春花之“改”——稀、尽、飞，反衬出翠竹的“不改”，诗人爱的是“不改”，对于“改”持何态度，当然就不言而喻了。由此可见，诗的一、二句并没有赞美春鸟、春花之意，更没有为它们的消逝而惋惜，而是在感慨它们随春而来，随春而去，与时浮沉，不能自立于世的品性。
“画有在纸中者，有在纸外者”。诗也可以说有在言中者，有在言外者。“始怜幽竹山窗下，不改清阴待我归”，以流水对的形式，用由人及物，由物及人的写法，生动地抒发了诗人的怜竹之意，和幽竹的“待我”之情。在这个物我相亲的意境之中，寄寓了诗人对幽竹的赞美，对那种不畏春残、不畏秋寒、不畏俗屈的高尚节操的礼赞。所以它不仅给人以美的享受，而且它那深刻的蕴涵又给人无穷的回味。前人说：“员外（钱起）诗体格新奇，理致清瞻。文宗右丞（王维）许以高格”（高仲武《中兴间气集》）。或许指的就是这一类诗。

钱起（722？—780年），字仲文，汉族，吴兴（今浙江湖州市）人，唐代诗人。早年数次赴试落第，唐天宝十年（751年）进士，大书法家怀素和尚之叔。初为秘书省校书郎、蓝田县尉，后任司勋员外郎、考功郎中、翰林学士等。曾任考功郎中，故世称“钱考功”。代宗大历中为翰林学士。他是大历十才子之一，也是其中杰出者，被誉为“大历十才子之冠”。又与郎士元齐名，称“钱郎”，当时称为“前有沈宋，后有钱郎。”
