译文
竹梢掠过石阶上，带来阵阵寒风，摇碎珠帘上玲珑的月光。山枕隐去了她的浓妆，只看见绿檀枕端，画着一对描金的凤凰。
蛾眉淡淡地簇拥着忧伤，她虽身在吴宫，心儿却在遥远的故乡。恨春去匆匆春情更浓，画楼更漏声声敲打着她的无眠，无眠的情思里天边又泛起了晨光。
注释
⑴菩萨蛮：词牌名。
⑵除：台阶。张衡《东京赋》：“乃羡公侯卿士，登自东除。”
⑶珠帘月上：是“月上珠帘”的倒装句。
⑷山枕：枕头形状如山。隐：隐没。又作凭依。《孟子·公孙丑》：“隐几而卧。”秾妆：即浓妆。
⑸绿檀：指檀枕。金凤凰：指枕的纹饰。
⑹蛾：眉，犹言蛾眉。
⑺吴宫：吴地的宫阙。此处暗用西施入吴的典故，西施在吴国而思念越国，事见《吴越春秋》等。
⑻残点声：即漏壶滴水将尽的声音。表示天将明时，漏尽更残。

菩萨蛮·竹风轻动庭除冷创作背景
此词约作于唐大中（847—860）年间。《乐府纪闻》记载此事云：“令狐綯假温庭筠手撰二十阕以进。”据此，《菩萨蛮》诸阕乃温庭筠所撰而由令狐绹进献唐宣宗之作。

两蛾愁黛浅，故国吴宫远。春恨正关情，画楼残点声。
此词写春愁春恨。与温词中的人物身份大多为普泛化的女性不同，此词的抒情主人公则是一位幽居深宫的女子。词的上片仍从景物环境写起。这是一个清幽冷寂的月夜，庭院里的付林在轻柔的夜风吹拂下沙沙作响，婆娑的竹影使庭院变得更加幽森清冷；皎洁的月光透过珍珠帘子洒照进来，在地上投下玲珑斑驳的影子。随着月光的指引，方显现出倚凭山枕而卧的女主人公。与另一首同调之作《菩萨蛮·夜来皓月才当午》所写“深处麝烟长，卧时留薄妆”的情景相似，这位倚枕而卧的女子留着“秾妆”，戴着凤凰金钗，隐约透露出她有所期盼的幽微心理。下片则将描写的笔触继续沿着女子的客颜妆饰，进而深入她的内心世界。一双用青黛描画的蛾眉，经过辗转无眠的煎熬已经变得颜色浅淡，眉宇间流溢着愁思，原来她思念的故土——吴国的宫殿已经十分遥远。至此，抒情主人公方显露她的庐山真面目：原来她是一个远离故国的宫女。这令读者联想起春秋末期被越王勾践作为政治诱饵献给吴王夫差的越国美女西施。词的末尾，又借拂晓前从画楼外传来的更漏残点之声，抒写女主人公缠绵无尽的春恨与愁情。
通观全词，山枕、秾妆、绿檀、金凤凰之类有关居处环境和容颜妆饰的描写，仍不脱脂粉气息，但竹风、审月、残点等景物意象的渲染烘托，则构筑了一个凄清幽微的艺术境界，用以抒写女主人公幽怨感伤之情，情致深婉，意境浑成。此词虽然写得是宫怨，但从主人公的怨恨声中，似乎还可以感觉到作者对现实的某些不满之情。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
