译文
春光明媚、和风徐徐的西子湖畔，游人如织。
到了傍晚，踏青游湖人们已散，笙歌已歇，但西湖却万树流莺，鸣声婉转，春色依旧。
把佳节清明的西湖，描绘得确如人间天堂，美不胜收。
注释
苏堤，元佑间苏轼官杭州刺束时建于西湖。
梨花风，古代认为从小寒至Ⅱ谷雨有二十四番应花期而来的风。梨花风为第十七番花信风。梨花风后不久即是清明。
笙歌，乐声、歌声。
属，归于。
按，古人极重清明节，有“朝朝清明，夜夜元宵”之说。该诗意境与周密《曲游春》词“沸十里、乱弦丛笛。看画船，尽入西泠，闲却半湖春色”相似。
即事，歌咏眼前景物
梨花风，梨花为第十七番花信风。
吴惟信，字仲孚，霅川（今浙江吴兴）人。南宋后期诗人。
苏堤清明即事鉴赏
这首诗对大好春光和游春乐境并未作具体渲染，只是用“梨花”、“笙歌”等稍作点染，此诗的构思之绝，就体现在作者不由正面入手，而是借游人的纵情、黄莺的恣意，从侧面措意，促人去展开联想。游子寻春，不但“半出城”，而且“朝而往，暮而归”，痛玩了整整一天，足见西湖胜景令人目不暇接，节日气氛使人流连忘返，春光对人的吸引。再看“流莺”，当人们“笙歌鼎沸，鼓吹喧天”之时，它的世界被人类“强占”。现在，“游人去而禽鸟乐也”，被压抑了一天的黄莺，又受了游人情绪的感染，当它重成了绿林的主人，怎能不欣喜若狂？不难想象，黄莺匿迹，是因人喧场面的热烈；而它的再现，正说明宜人秀色的魅力。这样，诗人叙节日情景，状清明景色，不是直接绘描，而是就有情之人和无情之莺的快乐，由侧面实现自己的创作目的。
前两句写西湖春景和游春的热闹场面。后两句说日暮人散以后，景色更加幽美，那些爱赶热闹的人既然不知道欣赏，只好让给飞回来的黄莺享受去了。运用侧面描写，反映了清明时节郊游踏青的乐趣：“梨花风起正清明，游子寻春半出城。日暮笙歌收拾去，万株杨柳属流莺。”江南三月正是“梨花万朵白如雪”的季节，青年人结伴出城，踏青寻春，笙笛呜咽，歌声袅袅，微风拂面，杨柳依依，真是“心旷神怡，把酒临风，其喜洋洋者矣”，写出了西湖风景的优美宜人。
