瞻望鼎湖江山渺远，代宗即嘘法度更新。
四海之零仍然多难，朝廷思念你这位旧臣。
你应时而起安抚君王的忧心，从早就具有治国的才能。
你慷慨奋发壮大国运，从容地平定了西蜀的边争。
如今要从蜀地返回京都，去朝廷辅佐新君。
夜闻漏鼓盼望天明启程，计算着入朝应在宫莺罢啭的时辰。
这里空留你的用兵之术，成都人民都愁苦万分。
你将行经栈道进入朝廷，我仍在江边隐居有如白苹。
这辈子哪能老于蜀地？如果不死一定要回到关中跟你一样效忠朝廷。
你若能登上台辅之位，危机关头切莫顾惜自身！
注释
严公：指严武，字季鹰，华州华阴人，唐朝大臣。杜甫朋友之子，杜甫居成都期间，严武数度劝其出仕，杜甫婉言谢绝。后来，因感其诚意，友情难却，入严武幕府任检校工部员外郎，故又有杜工部之称。能诗，《全唐诗》中录存六首。
鼎湖：鼎湖是黄帝升仙处，《汉书·郊祀志》：“黄帝采首山铜铸鼎于荆山下，鼎既成，龙有垂胡髯下迎，后世因名其处曰鼎湖”。此处以黄帝的升天来说明玄宗和肃宗的去世。
象阙（quē）：指朝廷，沈约《上建阙表》：“宜诏匠人，建兹象阙。”宪章：法制。
多难：时祸乱未平，所以说犹多难。
旧臣：严武在玄宗时已为侍御史，肃宗时又为京兆少尹兼御史中丞（时年三十二），所以称为旧臣。
安反侧：指平安史之乱。
经纶：是用治丝的事情来比喻一个人的文武才干的。
感激：奋发。张天步：张国运，指收复京师。
从容：有应付自如之意。静塞尘：指镇守四川。
北极：北极五星，其一曰北辰，是天之最尊星，《论语》：“为政以德，譬如北辰，居其所，而众星拱之。”故古人多以喻朝廷或皇帝。
漏鼓：漏是古代的计时器。古时官吏凌晨上朝，要先去朝房等待，时候到了，就击鼓为号，所以上朝常称为待漏或听鼓。思昼：待旦，等天亮。用“思”字是为了调平仄。
宫莺罢啭（zhuàn）春：点明严武入朝已在夏天，宫莺都不歌唱了。鸟叫得好听叫啭。
玉帐术：古代兵家一种安营的方法，认为主帅在某月将营帐安在某个方位，敌人就无法攻破，是一种迷信。
锦城：指成都。
阁道：栈道。丹地：指皇帝的宫廷，因宫廷都用红色涂饰。这是说严武入朝。
江潭隐白蘋：蘋（píng）通苹，苹的繁体字作蘋。此句意为杜甫在成都所居草堂，前临浣花溪，靠近百花潭。
会：定。秦：此处代指长安，这是说，严武走后，自己无所依靠，隐居江潭、白蘋之间是不能长久的，如果不死，定要北归，像严武那样效忠朝廷。
台辅：即宰相。台，三台，星名，又名泰阶。辅，辅佐。古人认为这颗星和宰相有天人交感的关系，宰相得人，所以用台辅作宰相的美称。
莫爱身：献身。

奉送严公入朝十韵创作背景
唐肃宗上元二年（761年）十二月，杜甫的忘年之交严武以兵部侍郎任成都尹兼御史大夫镇守巴蜀，对杜甫生活大加资助照顾。唐代宗宝应元年（762年）四月，玄宗肃宗相继去世，代宗即位后召严武还朝，七月严武离开成都，杜甫临别赠诗《奉送严公入朝十韵》。

奉送严公入朝十韵鉴赏
诗歌前四句写朝廷君王更替、四海多难之际需要严武这样的旧臣。严武在玄宗朝曾任侍御史，肃宗朝曾任京兆少尹、御史中丞。不说朝廷而说中原，是赞扬严武为众望所归，表明他这次还朝，是大家所盼望的。
这四句赞扬严武文韬武略满腹经纶，在平叛收京镇守一方等各方面均有杰出贡献。安禄山叛乱后，玄宗逃往成都，肃宗即位灵武（今宁夏回族自治区灵武县北）。严武也到灵武辅佐肃宗，搞好安定团结。后两句借用张天步，比喻国家的政治局势。这是说严武过去在中央工作，曾经激于忠愤，协助打开当时的局面，收复两京。塞上由于战争而扬起的沙尘，说严武镇守四川，又从容不迫地将和少数民族之间的纠纷平息下去了。
“漏鼓还思昼，宫莺罢啭春”，首句用典《庄子·逍遥游》上的寓言：大鹏飞到九万里的高度，背负青天，然后图谋迁移到南海去，用来比喻志向远大。这是赞美严武抱有大志，要将四川地区治理好，有如大鹏展翅，而今奉召回朝，又好比它回翅由南方飞返北方。“北极”一句，古人认为：它位于天体最高处，其它的星都拱卫着它。这是赞美严武一向忠心耿耿地为皇帝工作，这次内调中央，更加接近，和其他大臣一道犹如众星捧着北极星。“漏鼓”一句是设想严武上朝情景，待漏听鼓，直到天亮。“宫莺”一句，这是点明严武入朝已在夏天，宫莺都不歌唱了。鸟叫得好听叫啭。
“阁道通丹地，江潭隐白苹。”事实上，“玉帐术”一句是典用一种迷信说法。这是说严武还朝后，虽然留下了玉帐术，足以“静塞尘”保护成都人民。突出严武在四川政绩，令百姓思念，最后写杜甫自己淹留四川心中惆怅，希望自己此生不要终老蜀地，争取再回朝廷做官，从多角度写赠别之意。诗的最后二句是全诗核心，也是杜甫最郑重的嘱咐——如果严武回朝担任辅弼要职，一定要克尽职守，不能临危惜身。
严武入朝既是杜甫的政治理想的一种延伸，也在客观上使杜甫又失去了经济依靠，此后二年诗人漂泊在梓州、阆州，直到唐代宗广德二年（764年），严武复回成都任东西川节度使，杜甫才又携家回成都。

杜甫（712－770），字子美，自号少陵野老，世称“杜工部”、“杜少陵”等，汉族，河南府巩县（今河南省巩义市）人，唐代伟大的现实主义诗人，杜甫被世人尊为“诗圣”，其诗被称为“诗史”。杜甫与李白合称“李杜”，为了跟另外两位诗人李商隐与杜牧即“小李杜”区别开来，杜甫与李白又合称“大李杜”。他忧国忧民，人格高尚，他的约1400余首诗被保留了下来，诗艺精湛，在中国古典诗歌中备受推崇，影响深远。759-766年间曾居成都，后世有杜甫草堂纪念。
