译文
我与先生交往已久，人间没有我们这样的深厚的友谊。不学杨恽那样谋求钱财，在南山种豆，以求获得十分之一的微利。也不学衮衮诸公青云直上，而作道路边的酸苦李子。五千言的《道德经》让我一生受用不尽，任其自然，因缘自适，哪能受造化的戏弄？
还记得我们当年曾一同到山冈间相宅卜邻，欲求结邻定居，哪年哪月已难计算。如今正像桓温对老柳兴悲，犹如阮籍抚高松述怀，岁月蹉跎，卜邻之计未能办成。长干白下，青楼朱阁，无非是南柯梦中的槐树蚁穴。还不如斟满酒杯，放怀一醉，来得潇洒雅洁。
注释
永遇乐：词牌名。又名“消息”。双调一百零四字。辛克清：名泌，汉阳诗人，姜夔好友。
夙（sù）期：早有交往。
杨郎：指汉代杨恽，字子幼，西汉华阴（今属陕西）人。
十一：十分之一。征：征收，求取。
诸公衮衮：言官宦众多。
道边苦李：《晋书》载：（王戎）尝与群儿嬉于道侧，见李树多实，等辈兢趣之，戎独不往。或问其故，其曰：“树在道边而多子，必苦李也。”取之信然。
五千言：指《老子》（《道德经》）一书。
造物：指创造万物的天地宇宙。
东冈：泛指山冈。
胥宇：犹言看房子。语出《诗经·大雅·緜》。
悲桓：桓指桓温。《世说新语·言语》载：桓温见昔年种柳，皆已十围。叹曰：“木犹如此，人何以堪！”
对阮：阮指阮籍。这里用杜甫《绝句四首》之一“梅熟喜同朱老吃，松高拟对阮生论”诗意。
长干白下：长干与白下都是古代金陵（今南京）地名。
梦中槐蚁：谓荣华富贵无常。典出唐李公佐《南柯太守传》。
洼尊：即窊（wā）尊，指酒器。

永遇乐·次韵辛克清先生创作背景
此词作于姜夔客居汉沔时期。辛克清是汉阳诗人。姜白石曾作有《奉别沔鄂亲友》一诗，诗中写道：“诗人辛国士，句法似阿驹。别墅沧浪曲，绿阴禽鸟呼。颇参金粟眼，渐造文字无。”自注：“辛泌，克清。”由此可以推断：辛克清是一位品德高洁的文人。

永遇乐·次韵辛克清先生鉴赏
此词首三句叙友谊。以下入辛先生的志行。“杨郎”句用杨恽《报孙会宗书》语：“田彼南山，芜秽不治，种一顷豆，落而为萁。”又云：“幸有余禄，方籴贱贩贵，逐什一之利。”这三句说辛克清不逐（征，有求的意思）利。下三句说辛也不求名。
“诸公衮衮”是主语，“云霄直上”是谓句。杜甫《醉歌行》赠郑广文云：“诸公衮衮登台省，广文先生官独冷。”用的也正是这句话。“乃作道边苦李”，用王戎幼与群儿嬉，不折道边李，以为必苦李事。见《世说新语·雅量》。东坡《次韵王定国南迁回见寄》：“我愿得全如苦李。”词意正是这样。“五千言”二句是说辛克清有得于道家的哲学。不肯让“造物”（客观的辩证法）戏弄自己。就是说，不求名利，也就无所损辱。
下片说平生志欲结邻，多少年前曾同到东冈去相宅，准备他年结邻。哪知相宅之处，柳已老，松已高。卜邻的地还是不能到手！这六句一气呵成，气势恢宏。第三句插入一顿，便不伤直致。柳老松高，接上“岁月”无迹。“悲桓”“对阮”连用可谓悲而雅。那么，两人对十丈软红尘中的生活呢？长干白下，俱在金陵，青楼朱阁，美人所居。像这样奢侈豪华、舒适的生活，在他们两人看来，有如水中月，镜中花。结尾说，不如听任窊尊中的酒斟得满满的吧，因为老夫还没喝醉哩。洼（窊）尊，元结为道州刺史时，发见东湖小山上石多洼下，可作无数酒樽。于是建亭其上，作《窊尊铭》。又有《窊尊诗》。结句说：“此尊可常满，谁是陶渊明！”
这首词的风格在白石词中是独特的。可以说它朴老，也可以说是朴老放逸。朴老是基调。这可以看做是白石的功底。词论家公认白石是先专学山谷（黄庭坚），后来由江西诗派引入晚唐，主要是学陆龟蒙。于是转以这支妙笔写词，词又独具一格，影响词坛近一千年。他的底子只是个朴老，能朴老便可以弃绝纤巧轻奇，便不以达到别人能写的文章自己不写，自己要写的是别人写不了的东西。元遗山（元好问）论江西诗派说：“古雅谁将子美亲？精纯全失义山真。论诗宁下涪翁拜，不作江西社里人。”白石之所以可上接杜陵，只看他的朴老的风致，自是少陵亲血脉。宋翔凤便说过：“词中之有姜白石，犹诗中之有杜少陵。继往开来，文中关键。其流落江湖不忘君国，皆寄托比兴，于长短句寄之。”（《乐府馀论》）但白石的性情让他自己的词变为清空超妙一路。他是在朴老放逸的基础上深思积学，自证妙境的。这和杨万里、范成大的影响有关系。有人说白石从辛弃疾来，其实转似较远。
这首词虽不是白石的代表作，但它能表明一点：惟性情深厚的人才可以写出朴老的词。由此积学深思，才可以证入圣境。从浮华新巧入手只能成就小家小派。不能把白石道人说成江湖游士。游士或清客，是绝无这样深厚的性情的。

姜夔，南宋文学家、音乐家。人品秀拔，体态清莹，气貌若不胜衣，望之若神仙中人。往来鄂、赣、皖、苏、浙间，与诗人词家杨万里、范成大、辛弃疾等交游。庆元中，曾上书乞正太常雅乐，他少年孤贫，屡试不第，终生未仕，一生转徙江湖，靠卖字和朋友接济为生。他多才多艺，精通音律，能自度曲，其词格律严密。其作品素以空灵含蓄著称，有《白石道人歌曲》等。姜夔对诗词、散文、书法、音乐，无不精善，是继苏轼之后又一难得的艺术全才。
