译文
铺展开绣花的锦被，剔亮灯烛，我们在灯下畅叙衷肠。如果年年的日子都像今晚，那就算胜却了人间一切的恩爱了。
转眼间就要离开，此后便是长年的相思怨恨，我的容颜也很难一直美丽下去啊。就算你在外边被封了侯，那也不是什么重要的事，更何况，封侯是多么遥远的事啊。
注释
鹊桥仙：词牌名，又名“鹊桥仙令”“金风玉露相逢曲”等。双调五十六字，上下片各两仄韵，一韵到底。上下片首两句要求对仗。
绣衾（qīn）：绣花的被。前蜀韦庄《天仙子》词：“绣衾香冷懒重熏。”
旋剔：新剔。旋，新，时间副词。剔，指挑起灯芯剔除余烬，使灯更亮。
欢语：愉快的交谈。
胜却：胜过。
貂蝉：古代王公显宦冠上之饰物。此处泛指高官厚禄。
霎时：片刻。
经年：一年或整年。
朱颜：红润美好的容颜，指青春年少。
难驻：难以留住。
寻常：平常，普通。
无据：没有依据。意谓不可能。

鹊桥仙·绣衾初展创作背景
光绪三十二年（1906年）新春伊始，王国维准备跟随罗振玉前往北京谋职时，为表达他与妻子莫氏的离别之情，创作了该词。

鹊桥仙·绣衾初展鉴赏
全词系抒写男女缠绵之情，所创造的则是意境。词中有大量的景语，也有许多情语，颇工致可诵。
上片从眼前景物写起，运用对偶小分句，通过特定器物及主人公的动作，点明故事所发生的时间、地点及有关细节，合乎诗词作品叙事惯例。这是因为良人乍归，才急急忙忙地把久已不用的锦被重又铺在床上。一个“初”字，暗示其主人之久别重逢，而且显然是出乎意料的，这是紧接着上句的第二个动作。剔银缸，是为了增大烛光亮度。因为良人匆匆归来，妻子没有思想准备，一见之下，反而不敢相信，还以为是在梦里。下句“灯前”承上“银缸”。本应为“灯前欢语不尽”，因平仄及韵脚要求，句子成分排列有所调整。情人见面，喜出望外，千言万语，亟待倾诉。故“欢语”而至于“不尽”，亦人之常情。这三句，纯属写实，毫无夸饰，皆生活中习见者，笔调简淡，却另有一番情致。以下两句正面抒情，人世间有情人如果年年月月都能象今天晚上那样相亲相爱、相偎相依地生活在一起，就胜过享受荣华富贵多少倍了。上片五句，概括而言，在于写出相逢时的情和景，所点染的是乐多于哀的氛围。
下片掉转笔锋，集中写离别。首句“经年怨别”，又言分手之久，别久则思，思极则怨。作情语细腻而有层次。“镜里朱颜难驻”，谓韶光易逝，岁月无情，人生苦短，而聚散无常。尤其是有情人总是离多会少，成为毕生憾事。最后两句推开一层，这两句是说，即便是夫婿升了官，发了财，有了显赫的地位，我也看得很平常，并不感到高兴。何况“封侯”之类，并非人人有份。此句感情强烈，语气果决，反映了女主人公对爱情的执着和对功名利禄的蔑视，也是与上片歇拍处“貂蝉”一词相呼应。
