译文
傍晚的清风消除了白昼的热气，小池塘里荷叶静静地挺立。我从胡床上酒后醒来，独自在池塘边散步徘徊。微风不断吹来荷叶的清香，水草晃动，看得见荷叶下鱼儿游动的模样。眼前荷秆空空地举着它的叶片，而那冰清玉洁的荷花已难睹其面。我忧愁啊，荷花的模样已经如此这般，明晨怎堪化妆对镜去照容颜。夜深人静，月亮在充满凉意的空中穿行，月光惨淡、花朵低垂，犹如一个凄凉幽幻的梦境。这情景能有谁会理解，又有何人能够同情?也应记得，那临江手扶栏杆眺望的情景，江南湖面千顷，全是荷花的一片浓红。
注释
胡床：一种可以折叠的轻便坐具，也叫交椅、交床。由胡地传入，故名。
云藻乱、叶底游鱼动影：池塘中鱼的影子四处流动，打乱了水中云影与绿藻安静的姿态。
空擎承露盖：只剩下荷花的茎秆空举着残败的荷叶。
不见冰容：荷花已然凋谢。
临流凭阑干：靠着水边栏杆眺望流水。
江南红酣千顷：追忆江南水乡千顷荷花竞相开放的美景。
洞仙歌·荷花鉴赏
这是一首寓意深刻的咏物词。上片写暑天晚凉酒醒，在池塘边所看到的凋谢之荷。下片具体描写荷花凋谢后的情状，为一篇主旨之所在。“后夜”三句，代荷写怀，夜深梦觉，不胜幽怨。末二句，回忆荷花盛开时的绚丽情景，对比眼下的冷落之状，倍感悲戚。末句“江南红酣千顷”，表达了作者对来年荷花重现艳景的殷殷期待。作者是南宋中期立朝敢言、疾恶如仇的名臣，曾因作文讥讽权奸韩侂胄而被夺职谪居房州，直到韩氏败亡、党禁解除后才得起复。此词可能就是贬谪期间所作，它借败荷抒怀，含蓄地表达了自己幽愤的情怀。本篇是刘光祖诗词的代表作，它体现了作者的个人风格和成就。

刘光祖[公元一一四二年至一二二二年]字德修，简州阳安人。生于宋高宗绍兴十二年，卒于宁宗嘉定十五年，年八十一岁，登进士第。除剑南东川节度推官。淳熙五年，（公元一一七八年）召对，论恢复事，除太学正。光宗时，为侍御史，极论道学所系。徙太府少卿，求去不已，除直秘阁潼川运判。后官至显谟阁直学士。卒，谥文节。光祖著有后溪集十卷，《宋史本传》传于世。
