译文
满屋里烟雾缭绕，点燃着沉香，饮宴歌舞，直至乌啼夜残天亮。
看看曲池里的荷花，在清波上摇荡，摸摸腰带上的嵌玉，像冰一样寒凉。
注释
贵公子：泛指贵族公子。夜阑：夜尽。
袅（niǎo）袅：烟缭绕摇动。
沉水：即沉香。植物，常绿乔木，产于印度、泰国和越南。
曲沼：即曲房。内室，密室。
芙蓉波：指美人春心荡漾。
白玉：腰带上装饰的玉。
冷：夜尽哓寒的情状。
贵公子夜阑曲创作背景
李贺是是唐朝宗室的后裔，这对李贺来说似乎是个牢笼、陷阱或者是一种情结。这首诗作于李贺在长安做奉礼郎的三年，即元和五至八年（810-813）。这首诗就是就自己对上流社会所见所闻有感而作。

贵公子夜阑曲鉴赏
这是写贵公子彻夜饮宴作乐的诗。虽未直接描述“沉湎长夜狎饮”，但通过“袅袅沉水烟”、“腰围玉带玲”，是能让人想象出作乐场面之盛，时间之长来的。全诗仅仅二十个字，似乎刚开了个头，就结束了，但李贺写诗的思路是变化莫测的，诗无定格，句亦无定式，这首诗仅仅是侧面烘托，轻轻一点，便戛然而止。
李贺此诗有意捕捉这“夜阑乐罢的最后一镜头”，通篇仅作含蓄的静态描写，而此前的纵酒豪饮等种种行乐情事，也就尽在不言之中了。诗中的那位贵公子醉眼朦胧，稍带倦态，然而神志尚且清晰，正满意地感触着周边事物的声音、色彩、香氲和质料，仿佛他所有的感官一时都充分地扩张开来。“袅袅沉水烟”一句写视觉和嗅觉，“乌啼夜阑景”写听觉和视觉，“曲沼芙蓉波”写视觉和听觉，“腰围白玉冷”乃写视觉和触觉。综观全诗，作品呈现出由多种微妙感觉纠葛构成的奇特意象。这四句诗涉及到了四种感觉。李贺诗歌内频繁出现的感觉语词中，最引人注目的是芳、香、馨等表现嗅觉和湿、冷、寒等属于触觉的字眼。嗅觉、触觉是日常生活中最为原始的感觉。通过对这些最为原始因而也是最为根本的感觉的尖锐化，李贺实现了对日常生活感觉的超越。
通过诗歌来实现对平凡生活的超越，触及了李贺创作的一处要害。以“唐诸王孙”的名分而论，李贺自视为“贵公子”原无可挑剔，问题是身为没落的贵族，不可能得到社会的普遍尊敬和丰厚的物质待遇。李贺的潜愿既不为现实所容，只能通过诗笔想象在幻境中得到宣泄。《夜饮朝眠曲》、《梁台古意》一类歌诗，肆力绘写五光十色的贵胄游宴生活，这里面弥漫着恣纵行乐的气息，既无道义的约束又无理性的调节，唯能感受到醉生梦死和欲望的尽情流淌。这首《贵公子夜阑曲》，更是无一处理语，任由人类本初就有的“原始感觉”在诗中游走，李贺的心思多少应了那句“我感故我在”。然而，虚幻的总归虚幻，理想与现实云泥之别只能倍增李贺的痛苦，让他在生活的无奈中越陷越深。

李贺（约公元791年-约817年），字长吉，汉族，唐代河南福昌（今河南洛阳宜阳县）人，家居福昌昌谷，后世称李昌谷，是唐宗室郑王李亮后裔。有“诗鬼”之称，是与“诗圣”杜甫、“诗仙”李白、“诗佛”王维相齐名的唐代著名诗人。著有《昌谷集》。李贺是中唐的浪漫主义诗人，与李白、李商隐称为唐代三李。有“‘太白仙才，长吉鬼才’之说。李贺是继屈原、李白之后，中国文学史上又一位颇享盛誉的浪漫主义诗人。李贺长期的抑郁感伤，焦思苦吟的生活方式，元和八年（813年）因病辞去奉礼郎回昌谷，27岁英年早逝。
