凉风厉秋节，司典告详刑。
我君顺时发，桓桓东南征。
泛舟盖长川，陈卒被隰埛。
征夫怀亲戚，谁能无恋情。
拊衿倚舟樯，眷眷思邺城。

昔人从公旦，一徂辄三龄。

译文
肃杀的秋季凉风已至，就该慎重考虑征伐之事了。
我们主公适时去出征，英勇大军出征讨伐孙权。
出征的船队覆盖江面，陈列的士兵遍布郊野。
征战将士思念着亲人，谁能没有眷念的感情。
抚摸着衣襟倚靠着桅杆，眷顾不已想着邺城。
让人同情《东山》主人公，鹳鸟长鸣唤起心中的悲伤。
日月运行不止，人处战乱之中，又怎能得到安宁。
古人随周公征战，一去就是三年。
主公的神勇之师，定能在短时间内迅速取胜。
舍弃与家人的深厚感情，为此次征战贡献力量竭尽忠贞。
只怕我力微德薄，作用还抵不上一个平常人，只有诚心报答无功而受禄的恩遇。
自己终日感慨，报恩的思绪萦绕于心。
建功立业只愿做先锋，哪还顾得上听鸣金而停止。
注释
厉：整肃。秋节：秋季。厉秋节，到了用兵的季节。据《礼记·月令》载：孟秋之月凉风至，始行杀戮之事。天子于是命令将帅，整顿军队，以征不义。
司典：主管刑法之官。详刑：亦作“祥刑”，指决狱应该审慎，善于用刑。
我君：指曹操。顺：适应。时：时令。
桓（huán）桓：武勇的样子。东南征：指征讨孙权。
泛舟：行船。盖长川：覆盖水面。
陈卒：排列起来的士兵。被：覆盖。隰（xí）：低洼的地方。埛（jiōng）：同“垌”，遥远的郊野。
征夫：出征的士兵。亲戚：亲人。
恋情：依恋之情。
拊（fǔ）：同“抚”，抚摸。衿：衣襟。樯：船的桅杆。
眷眷：依恋不舍的样子。诗人在《登楼赋》中有“情眷眷而怀归兮“之句，其“眷眷”之意与此相同。
东山：《诗经·豳风》中的一篇，描写古代征战的生活和士兵对往事、故乡、亲人的思念。东山人：指《东山》诗的作者。
喟（kuì）然：叹息的样子。鹳（guàn）：鸟名，形状似鹤。感鹳鸣，鹳之鸣令人感伤。
安处：安宁的生活处境，意谓没有战事。
恒：一作“常”。
公旦：指周公姬旦，周文王之子。
徂（cú）：往。辄（zhé）：就。三龄：三年。
神武：英勇威武。神武师，指曹操南征的队伍。
速平：迅速平定。
亲睦恩：指父母、妻子之情。
输力：尽力。
一夫：一个普通的男人。
素餐：白吃饭，意谓不劳而食。
夙夜：早晚，即整天。恲（pēng）：流露，形于颜色。
萦：缠绕。
羽：箭羽。先登羽，先行出战，喻建功心切。
金声：指军中鸣金收兵的号令。

从军诗五首·其二鉴赏
该诗开头至“喟然感鹳鸣”为第一段，描写了出征的时机和出征前的场面。首四句说明大军出征“顺时”“厉秋节”以及出征的目的“东南征”，接下来两句描写了出征大军军容强盛严整。然后笔锋一转由景入情，表达了战士离家乡赴疆场时的悲壮心情。尽管军容强盛严整，毕竟连年征战，诗人的厌战事情油然而生，于是“倚舟樯”“思邺城”。
“日月不安处”以下十四句为第二段，为了一举平定天下而不再征戎，将士们决心舍命向前“输力竭忠贞”，赞美了他们竭尽忠贞一往直前的慷慨决心。起句先是自问“日月不安处，人谁获恒宁”，而后对比典故再自答“今我神武师，暂往必速平”。最后以“输力竭忠贞”“将秉先登羽”表述建功立业的决心和愿望。事实上，作者实践了自己的誓言，在第二年的正月病逝于征战途中。
全篇由景入情，层层升华，过渡自然，曲折宛转，尤为换笔换墨之妙。
