天迷迷，地密密。
熊虺食人魂，雪霜断人骨。
嗾犬狺狺相索索，舐掌偏宜佩兰客。

我虽跨马不得还，历阳湖波大如山。
毒虬相视振金环，狻猊猰貐吐馋涎。
鲍焦一世披草眠，颜回廿九鬓毛斑。
颜回非血衰，鲍焦不违天；
天畏遭衔啮，所以致之然。
分明犹惧公不信，公看呵壁书问天。

译文
天迷迷，地密密，公无出门。
九头熊虺会吞噬人的灵魂，严霜大雪几乎会把人骨折断。
凶恶的狗呀，听谁使唤？闻嗅跳蹿，要把人掀翻。佩兰客，品高行端，可它们要舔舐足掌精髓，却偏把你挑选。
只有天帝指令它们乘轩升天，手持玉星宝剑，倚靠黄金横木，它们才会意足心满。
我虽然跨着大马，却无能归还，因为历阳湖波汹涌如大山。
剧毒角龙抖动蛇身花纹，张开大嘴如血口大盘；狻猊以虎豹为餐，猰貐以人肉为食。
它们狂乱地吐着谗涎，等待把佩兰客送到嘴边。
鲍焦吐枣而死，是因为无能自食其力吗？颜回年少鬓白，是因为呕心沥血吗？
颜回之死并非血气衰竭，鲍焦之死并非违背天意。
天公无道，贤才早陨；之所以会这样，是昭昭上天遭到肆意吞噬。
天道公明还怕你不信，那你就看看屈原。在先王庙，在公卿祠，图画天地、山川、神灵，琦伟谲诡，因书其壁，呵而问之，作《天问》，抒发情思。
译文
熊虺：传说中食人魂魄的九头毒蛇。
嗾：唆使狗的声音。
狺狺：狗叫声。
索索：内心不安的样子。这里指狗向前闻嗅的模样。
佩兰客：指品德高尚的人。出自《楚辞·离骚》
帝：天帝。
乘轩：乘车，坐车。
玉星点剑：镶嵌于事的宝剑。
轭：驾车时套在牲口脖子上的横木。
历阳湖：麻湖，在今天安徽和县。
虬：有角的龙。这里指巨大的毒蛇。
狻猊：狮子。
猰貐：传说中吃人的怪兽。
鲍焦：周代隐士，传说中他非自己种的粮食不吃，非妻子制的衣服不穿。后来饿在山中，吃枣子，受人责问，于是呕吐而死。出自《风俗通》。
颜回：孔子的弟子。31岁就逝世了。
天畏二句：老天生怕颜回、鲍焦他们被怪兽吃掉，所以才让他们早死。
衔啮：咀嚼。
呵壁书问天：屈原遭谗言被流放后，见楚国先王庙公卿祠上画着天地山川神灵等奇崛的景象，于是，写下了《天问》，对壁呵责，抒写胸中的愁思和满腔的悲愤。

李贺（约公元791年-约817年），字长吉，汉族，唐代河南福昌（今河南洛阳宜阳县）人，家居福昌昌谷，后世称李昌谷，是唐宗室郑王李亮后裔。有“诗鬼”之称，是与“诗圣”杜甫、“诗仙”李白、“诗佛”王维相齐名的唐代著名诗人。著有《昌谷集》。李贺是中唐的浪漫主义诗人，与李白、李商隐称为唐代三李。有“‘太白仙才，长吉鬼才’之说。李贺是继屈原、李白之后，中国文学史上又一位颇享盛誉的浪漫主义诗人。李贺长期的抑郁感伤，焦思苦吟的生活方式，元和八年（813年）因病辞去奉礼郎回昌谷，27岁英年早逝。
