西亭石竹新作芽，游丝已罥樱桃花。
鸣鸠乳燕春欲晚，杖藜时复话田家。
田家父老向我说，“谷雨久过三月节。
春田龟坼苗不滋，犹赖立春三日雪。”
我闻此语重叹息，瘠土年年事耕织。
暮闻穷巷叱牛归，晓见公家催赋入。
去年旸雨幸无愆，稍稍三农获晏食。
春来谷赋复伤农，不见饥鸟啄余粒。
即今土亢不可耕，布谷飞飞朝暮鸣。
舂莩作饭藜作羹，吁嗟荆益方用兵。
春不雨鉴赏
此诗作于顺治十四年（1657），这一年自春至夏，北方三月不雨，此诗即咏写此事。
首两联交代背景，描写“春欲晚”的时节的农村风光，并由杖藜老农话农事引入下层。三四两联借田家父老之口描述农村干旱情景。旱情的严重，田家父老的忧虑凸现无遗。下面四联写诗人内心的触动及深深叹息。诗人既为农民在贫瘠的土地上岁岁劳作的悲苦命运而感叹，更为官府的剥削压榨，使农民生活受到极大影响和损害的现象愤懑不已，揭示出农民辛勤劳动反而日益贫困的真正原因并非只是天灾所致，而在于统治者的残酷盘剥，笔锋直指封建统治者及不合理的制度。尾两联又回到眼前现状的描写：土地干旱无法耕种，人们只能用野果野菜充饥，而清兵又要从荆（今湖南、湖北）、益（今四川）向云南发兵进攻，人们在遭受灾荒的侵害、官府剥削压榨的同时，还要蒙受战乱的痛苦。
此诗对劳动人民的不幸命运和生活处境寄予了深深的关切同情，对腐败统治阶级及不合理的制度进行了有力的揭露，极富战斗性和认识价值。

王士祯（1634—1711），原名王士禛，字子真、贻上，号阮亭，又号渔洋山人，人称王渔洋，谥文简。新城（今山东桓台县）人，常自称济南人，清初杰出诗人、学者、文学家。博学好古，能鉴别书、画、鼎彝之属，精金石篆刻，诗为一代宗匠，与朱彝尊并称。书法高秀似晋人。康熙时继钱谦益而主盟诗坛。论诗创神韵说。早年诗作清丽澄淡，中年以后转为苍劲。擅长各体，尤工七绝。但未能摆脱明七子摹古馀习，时人诮之为“清秀李于麟”，然传其衣钵者不少。好为笔记，有《池北偶谈》、《古夫于亭杂录》、《香祖笔记》等，然辨驳议论多错愕、失当。
