译文
庭院里的花，还没有一点开放的消息，而玉楼中的女子已经最先感到了春天的暖意。本打算夜间做个美梦，去到江南找寻游子，可惜这个梦没有做成。醒来之后仍然觉得江南路途遥远，不能到达。
暗地里写封信，偷偷地寄给他，那也是徒劳，他照样不会早些回来。如果要问我的相思有多么长的话，那么与之相比，天涯，也得算短的。
注释
清商怨：词牌名，《钦定词谱》云：古乐府有《清商曲》辞，其音多哀怨，故取以为名。周邦彦以晏词有“关河愁思”句，更名《关河令》。又名《伤情怨》。双调。四十三字。上下阙各四句，三仄韵。上阙二十一字，下阙二十二字。 [2]
香信：即花信，开花的消息。尚浅：意谓为时尚早。
最：副词。犹正，恰。先暖：先得暖意。
春衾（qīn）：春季用的被子。
回文锦字：指寄予爱人的书信。回文，诗词的修辞手法之一。某些诗词的字句。回环往复读之均能成诵。锦字：此处指书信。暗：默默的样子。剪：剪裁，指编排书信的文字。漫：徒然。

清商怨·庭花香信尚浅创作背景
这首词的具体创作年代已不详。晏几道思妇词词情具有婉丽的风格特征和精雕细琢的艺术追求，其对于思妇的感受、心理有着精准的把握和表达，这首词即为代表作之一。此词写女子（或指疏梅）思念江南的情人（词人自己）。

清商怨·庭花香信尚浅鉴赏
起首两句：“庭花香信尚浅，最玉楼先暖”。冬天就要过去，春天就要到了。庭院中的龙木已经浅浅透出报春的消息。虽然离开花还有些日子，但花已含苞，冬天里已经露出一丝春意。春天的气息刚刚出现，玉楼中的思妇就已经感觉到了。言外之意，思妇一直在盼望春天，盼望春暖花开时远行人的归来，所以特别注意天气的细小变化。透出思妇的日夜思念之情。“梦觉香衾，江南依旧远”。然而，一梦醒来，梦去人空，依然是香衾独寝，梦中的江南依旧在遥远的地方。平添一份愁怨和思念。
下阙写思妇日间的活动。“回文锦字暗剪”，含蓄地表达出思妇的心境。她暗暗地、偷偷地剪着回文锦字，将自己的一片相思寄予其中，一个“暗”字，活现出思妇难抑的相思。怕人寻问，噎泪装欢”，却又偷偷地剪着锦字，想寄去一片深情。然而她又想，即使寄去了又能如何，还不是一样当归不归。“回文”二句，写出了思妇从暗暗相思到徒叹枉然的心理活动。结句用“要问相思，天涯犹自短”二句，以天涯比相思，天涯茫茫无边无际，然而以之比思妇的相思之情的话，那么天涯就要短得多了。可见思妇情之长，思之深。使人想起秦观《江城子》中言愁之多的名句：“便做春江都是泪，流不尽，许多愁。”
此词通过描写思妇的心态与感受，抒发了痛苦的相思之情，然而却是哀而不伤，怨而不怒。她不像柳恽《江南曲》中的那位妻子一样，说出“不道新知乐。空言行路远”的诛心之论，也不像《古诗十九首·冉冉孤生竹》里的那位妻子一样自我安慰，“君亮执高节，贱妾亦何为！”她只是温柔地表达自己的情感，“要问相思，天涯犹自短。”然而和揣测丈夫迟归的原因“江南依旧远”对照起来，男子因为路远而迟迟不归，女子的相思却比天涯更短，这样的对比曲折而深婉，在无言之中表达了怨慕之情。“尚浅”与“归晚”相对，“依旧远”与“犹自短”相对，处处照应，处处伏笔，可谓曲笔深思，温婉含蓄。这首词并不出名，却体现了晏残道词情婉丽的风格特征和精雕细琢的艺术追求，正所谓“淡语皆有味，浅语皆有致。”

晏几道（1030-1106，一说1038—1110 ，一说1038-1112），男，汉族，字叔原，号小山，著名词人，抚州临川文港沙河（今属江西省南昌市进贤县）人。晏殊第七子。历任颍昌府许田镇监、乾宁军通判、开封府判官等。性孤傲，晚年家境中落。词风哀感缠绵、清壮顿挫。一般讲到北宋词人时，称晏殊为大晏，称晏几道为小晏。《雪浪斋日记》云：“晏叔原工小词，不愧六朝宫掖体。”如《鹧鸪天》中的“舞低杨柳楼心月，歌尽桃花扇底风”等等词句，备受人们的赞赏。
