没有才能不能辜负圣明时代，思念回东溪守着竹篱故居。
不厌弃尚平尽早了却儿女婚嫁，却嫌恨陶潜辞官归隐年岁已迟。
逢临秋季草堂边蟋蟀叫得更急，时近黄昏深山里蝉鸣徒增悲意。
柴门前寂寞冷清车马不到，空林中我独自与白云相依。
注释
早秋：初秋。唐王勃《秋江送别》诗之一：“早是他乡值早秋，江亭明月带江流。”
明时：指政治清明的时代。
故篱：故乡。
尚平：即尚长（尚子平）。一作“向平”。
陶令：即陶潜（陶渊明），曾任彭泽令，故称。
薄暮：傍晚，太阳快落山的时候。
蛩（qióng）响：犹蛩声。
蛩：蟋蟀。
柴门：用柴木做的门。言其简陋。
空林：渺无人迹的树林。
期：约，约定。

早秋山中作创作背景
这首诗疑作于王维在辋川时期，时间约为天宝（唐玄宗年号，742—756）初年，此时作者四十多岁，年龄与陶渊明辞官时（年四十一）接近。当时朝政日坏，王维郁郁失志，所以向往隐逸生活。

早秋山中作鉴赏
此诗首句“无才不敢累明时”，谦词反语出之，王维年纪轻轻就名满天下，不是真的无才。此句笔法微婉，旨趣却很明白。
颔联二句用了两个典故，出句用的是东汉尚长之典，见三国魏嵇康《高士传》。汉建武（汉光武帝年号，25年六月—56年四月）中，尚长子女婚嫁已毕，遂不问家事出游名山大川，后不知所终。对句是用陶渊明不为五斗米折腰辞官而去的故事。陶渊明曾经在彭泽当县令，蔑视功名富贵，不肯趋炎附势。有次有个督邮来督查，他觉得这个督查粗俗而又傲慢，但是又不得不去，一旁的县吏建议他穿得整整齐齐去拜见督邮，陶渊明忍无可忍，说“我不能为了五斗米向小人折腰”，于是挂印归去。此二句这两个典故，表明诗人与尚子平、陶渊明一样的意欲归隐山林的思想，而且归隐之心非常迫切。
颈联是从山野间的昆虫的声音，也就是从听觉的角度来描写早秋寒凉萧瑟的特点。蟋蟀和秋蝉的凄苦音响，预示着一个寥落季节的来临，予人一种萧索落寞的秋季感受。临秋的蟋蟀响急，薄暮的寒蝉声悲，是景语，也是情语，映衬出作者的迟暮感。
最后二句写诗人隐居山中，门庭冷落，过着闲适、恬静的生活。每天在林中散步，独与白云相伴，如闲云野鹤一般，充满幽居的情趣。这里说自己寂处山中，空林独往，只和白云期会，厌倦仕途的心情，约略可见。
此诗主要申明作者自己无心世事，向往隐逸生活，抒发了一个隐士的情怀。全诗语言含蓄，意味悠长。

王维（701年－761年，一说699年—761年），字摩诘，汉族，河东蒲州（今山西运城）人，祖籍山西祁县，唐朝诗人，有“诗佛”之称。苏轼评价其：“味摩诘之诗，诗中有画；观摩诘之画，画中有诗。”开元九年（721年）中进士，任太乐丞。王维是盛唐诗人的代表，今存诗400余首，重要诗作有《相思》《山居秋暝》等。王维精通佛学，受禅宗影响很大。佛教有一部《维摩诘经》，是王维名和字的由来。王维诗书画都很有名，非常多才多艺，音乐也很精通。与孟浩然合称“王孟”。
