译文
雨后初晴，圭峰上蔚蓝天空格外新鲜，我们为草堂寺无可上人送行。
在蛩鸣的秋天，他带着麈尾，离开了寺院，暂别了亲人。
潭水中倒映着他独行的身影，他多次身倚树边休息。
最终他应烟霞之约，把天台山作为近邻。
注释
无可：僧人，本姓贾，范阳（今河北涿县）人，贾岛堂弟。诗名与贾岛齐。
上人：佛教称具备德智善行的人为上人。
圭（guī）峰：山峰名。位于陕西南鄂县东南紫阁峰东，与重云寺相对，其形如圭，故名。下有草堂寺，寺东又有小圭峰。
霁（jì）色：雨后天空晴朗的蓝色。
草堂：寺名。
麈（zhǔ）：古书上指鹿一类的动物，其尾可做拂尘。
蛩（qióng）：蟋蟀。
潭底影：潭水中的倒影。
.数息：多次休息。
树边身：倚在树上的身体。
烟霞：云雾之气，也指山水胜景。
天台：山名。在浙江省天台县北，为仙霞岭脉之东支。

某一次的应试贾岛落第，与无可同住长安西南圭峰之草堂寺，无可将南游庐山，于是贾岛作此诗赠别。

送无可上人鉴赏
在秋雨初晴的时候，诗人送其从弟至天台问道。“蛩鸣”承“霁色新”，见出雨后之情形，“同离寺”则接次句而来。三、四句承上启下，一写送，一写别，由此过渡到“独行”二句。“独行潭底影，数息树边身”为历来传诵的名句。上句写出堂弟孤寂地行走于潭边，清澈的潭水映出他孤独的身影，在形影相吊的意境中给人以一种寂寞感；后一句写堂弟沿途的疲惫，致使他不断地靠在树边休息，这又在寂寞之中增添了无家可依的悲苦。诗句对偶工巧，造语自然奇特，意境幽冷奇峭。这两句，是贾岛生平得意之语，自注道：“二句三年得，一吟双泪流。知音如不赏，归卧故山秋。”表面上看，这两句承上离别而来，写自己的孤独。由于从弟离去，在潭边行走，只有水底影子相随；几次歇息下来，也只有树木相伴，而从深层次来看，此联又体观了对佛禅的领悟。独行潭边，潭上之人与潭底之影，是一是二，非一非二，亦一亦二，不免使人想到洞山良价看到潭底之影而豁然开悟的事迹。而在树旁歇息，不过是色身而已。那么，离别之事不须看得太重。但禅家讲纳于境而不滞于境，到底未能泯灭心中的感情，所以最后说：
在这首诗中，作者表达了他对尘世的厌恶和对佛门清静的向往，以及他对堂弟的留恋之情。首联写明送别地点、对象及景色，颔联写送别情景，以具有代表性的事物，写离别，写气氛，烘托情感。颈联突出写别后诗人孤寂的外部形象和清冷的内在感受，是贾诗本色。尾联写别后相思意。诗层次清晰，写出送别全过程，语言质朴自然，抒情达意深挚浓郁，确可称为“平淡”。“独行”二句虽不一定“三年得”，但刻划人物心理状态却极为真切。

贾岛（779～843年），字浪（阆）仙，唐代诗人。汉族，唐朝河北道幽州范阳县（今河北省涿州市）人。早年出家为僧，号无本。自号“碣石山人”。据说在洛阳的时候后因当时有命令禁止和尚午后外出，贾岛做诗发牢骚，被韩愈发现其才华。后受教于韩愈，并还俗参加科举，但累举不中第。唐文宗的时候被排挤，贬做长江主簿。唐武宗会昌年初由普州司仓参军改任司户，未任病逝。
