译文
金銮殿上灯光如昼，在影影绰绰的灯影之中，皇帝正在与一位嫔妃相戏。皇帝被劝酒至醉态已显，进酒的人口中还在高喊着“万岁，万岁，万万岁”。
这位嫔妃又跳起了《伊州》旋舞，皇帝看得心花怒放，亲自为她重整头上斜斜欲坠的玉簪。皇帝被这位嫔妃哄得高兴了，宣其前往侍寝，而今夜此妃得幸侍君，六宫之中将有多少嫔妃会因失宠而怆然泪下。
注释
清平乐：词牌名，此调正体双调八句四十六字，上片四仄韵，下片三平韵。
黄金殿：指华丽的宫殿，这里指后宫宫殿。
官家：封建时代对皇帝的一种称呼。
《伊州》：乐曲名，载唐崔令钦所著《教坊记》“大曲名”表中。
搔头：首饰，即簪的别名。
御：古代对帝王所作所为及其所用物的敬称，如御旨、御驾等。宣住：即宣诏留宿的意思。
六宫：本指古代皇后的寝宫，也指皇后，后来泛指皇后妃嫔或其住处。

清平乐·黄金殿里创作背景
据宋人吴曾《能改斋漫录》卷十七记载：“王观学士尝应制撰《清平乐》词，……高太后以为媒渎神宗，翌日罢职，世遂有‘逐客’之号。”可见此词是王观做学士时奉皇帝之命所写的一首“应制”词。该词在陆游《耆旧续闻》记载是王仲甫所作，当另有所据，可做一说。

清平乐·黄金殿里鉴赏
词人通过对帝王欢娱享乐生活的描写，揭露了封建帝王生活的种种丑态，将笼罩在帝王身上的世之尊崇的光环打翻在地，将其丑恶庸俗的嘴脸暴露无遗。
上片描写皇帝与嫔妃宴乐的情景。起首的“黄金殿里，烛影双龙戏”两句，写金銮殿上灯光如昼，在影影绰绰的灯影之中，皇帝正在与一位嫔妃相戏。此二句用法巧妙，词人不去正面描写皇帝与嫔妃的狎昵状态，而是通过对宫殿里灯火辉煌的场景的描写，借说烛影下有“双龙”相戏来表现皇帝的淫佚。接下来的“劝得官家真个醉，进酒犹呼万岁”两句，写这位嫔妃极力地向皇帝劝酒，皇帝醉态已显，进酒的人口中还在高喊着“万岁，万岁，万万岁”。由此可见，此处的“官家”是对皇帝的俗称。“真个醉”三字，表明皇帝真的有了醉意，其中也暗示着皇帝对这位风流娇美的嫔妃的痴迷，隐约流露出词人对皇帝沉迷于酒色的嘲讽。
下片续写宴饮的欢娱。“折旋舞彻《伊州》。君恩与整搔头”两句，写这位嫔妃又跳起了《伊州》旋舞，皇帝看得心花怒放，亲自为她重整头上斜斜欲坠的玉簪，对此妃的怜爱之情可见一斑。这位妃子劝君醉饮之后又献舞，可见其献媚邀宠功力之高深。结拍的“一夜御前宣住，六宫多少人愁”二句，写皇帝被这位嫔妃哄得高兴了，宣其前往侍寝，而今夜此妃得幸侍君，六宫之中将有多少嫔妃会因失宠而怆然泪下。词人在此处笔锋一转，宕开一笔，开始为数千深锁宫中的女子的不幸命运而哀叹，既哀其羡慕这位嫔妃得幸侍君，又为她们年华虚度而叹惜不已。
这首词语气诙谐，充满了对封建帝王昏庸淫佚生活的嘲讽。

王观(1035--1100)，字通叟，生于如皋(今江苏如皋)，北宋著名词人。 王安石为开封府试官时，他得中科举及第。宋仁宗嘉佑二年(1057年)，考中进士。 其后，历任大理寺丞、江都知县等职，在任时作《扬州赋》，宋神宗阅后大喜，大加褒赏；又撰《扬州芍药谱》一卷，遂被重用为翰林学士净土。
