译文
休文体弱多病身体虚弱，连垂腰的金带都不堪佩系了。望湖楼上正飘散着花香，春天和煦微风吹拂着衣袖，眼望着皓月当空，耳听着悠扬箫声。
酒醉睡去，又从梦中惊醒，正听见漏壶的长流滴水发出清脆而单调的声响，倚在床上似乎感到了无比潮湿。身边的侍酒美人不见了，内心的空虚好像花上的月亮，正在天际空自徘徊，自己竟是空度良宵。
注释
临江仙：词牌名。唐教坊曲。原用以歌咏水仙，故名。又名《雁儿归》、《瑞鹤仙令》等。双调小令，平韵格。
望湖楼：据《苏轼诗集》卷七《六月二十七日望湖楼醉书五绝》注曰：“《图经》：望湖楼，又名看经楼，乾德七年（公元969年），忠懿王钱氏建，去钱塘江一里。”查慎行注：“《西湖游览志馀》：楼在昭庆寺前，一名先德楼。”项长官：苏轼同僚，名未详。
休文：即梁朝文学家沈约，字休文，体弱多病。
金带：高官服饰。
暗香：语出林通《山园小梅》：“暗香浮动月黄昏。”此处泛指花香。
弄：玩弄，引申为戏耍。
明月夜闻箫：化用杜牧《寄扬州韩绰判官》诗意：“二十四桥明月夜，玉人何处教吹箫。”
清漏：古代滴水计时的仪器。又名“漏壶”、“漏刻”。将上面铜壶装满水后，水即滴水漏入下壶，壶内装一直立浮标，上面刻有时辰，水逐步升高，浮标也随之上升，如此则知时辰。滴水发出均匀清响，故称清漏。永：长。
隐床：倚床。沈约《夜夜曲》：“月辉横射枕，灯光半隐床。”
潮：微湿，发潮。
董娇饶：古乐府中有《董娇饶》。《玉台新咏》卷一有宋子厚《董娇娆》诗一首。“饶”，一作“娆”。“饶”，通“娆”。这里指佳人美女。杜甫《春日戏题恼郝使君兄》：“细马时鸣金腰褭（niǎo），佳人屡出董娇饶。”
徘徊二句：《太平广记》卷三百二十六《沈警》“玄机名警。……作《凤将雏雏衔娇》曲，其词日：‘命啸无人啸，含娇何处娇。徘徊花上月，空度可怜宵。”词文出于此。

宋哲宗元祐五年（1090年）春。苏轼卧病弥月，病痊愈后和同僚登上望湖楼赏景，作该词赠项长官。

临江仙·疾愈登望湖楼赠项长官鉴赏
上片写词人刚刚病愈，身体尚瘦损虚弱，夜晚登上望湖楼。“多病休文都瘦损，不堪金带垂腰。”因为梁朝文学家沈约体弱多病，这里词人以休文自比，说自己已衰弱到连垂腰的金带都不堪佩系了。金带是指翰林学士服饰，故此时词人正穿着官服登楼，其腰间佩系着金带服饰。这两句埋下后面心境变化的依据。“望湖楼上暗香飘。和风春弄袖，明月夜闻箫。”这是词人在楼上所见所闻，词人大病初愈登高望远，顿感浑身轻快惬意，精神为之抖擞。
下片则转入了心绪孤寂的抒发。“酒醒梦回清漏永，隐床无限更潮。”这两句写词人在望湖楼上与友人同僚对月畅饮，酒醒梦回，听见漏壶的声响，感到床上潮湿。其实，漏壶滴水，与卧床潮湿并无干系，这是一种艺术通感描写，听觉与感觉的相互贯通，却真实而生动地透露出词人此时此地的心绪顿然不适。于是，词人一阵孤寂感霎时涌上心头：“佳人不见董娇饶，徘徊花上月，空度可怜宵。”“可怜宵”，指可爱、可惜的夜宵。词章显示出词人此时的虚度光阴的哀怨心境，词人似乎感到心绪不定，前途未卜，而与词首的“多病瘦损”处境相互关含。结尾三句，实推衍出词人这位孤寂老人，正在人生旅途上疲惫衰弱地行进着。故词中的“徘徊”、“空度”，应是全词的词眼。
全词的妙处在于含蓄蕴藉、藏锋不露，给人以种种联想的启迪。词中的花丛暗香、和煦春风、皓月当空、箫声悠扬，组合成一幅清丽的春夜图。如此美景，引发出词人虚度光阴的感叹。词人的仕途坎坷、环境乖赛、人事艰险、国事日非等种种心理悲哀，正仍在脑海中索绕。这些心理悲哀，词人并没有正面标出，却通过“酒醒梦回清漏永、隐床无限更潮”及“佳人不见董娇饶，徘徊花上月，空度可怜宵”等空寂画面委婉透出，艺术手法高超。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
