释鼎需（一○九二～一一五三），号懒庵，俗姓林，长乐（今属福建）人。年二十五读《遗教经》得悟，依保寿乐禅师为比丘。踰十年归里，结庵于羌峰绝顶，三年不下山。后由佛心才禅师挽其出。高宗绍兴初谒宗杲于洋屿，旋随宗杲移小溪，与之分座，由此得声。泉州守请开法延福，后退处洋屿八年，晚居东西禅。二十三年卒，年六十二。为南岳下十六世，径山大慧普觉宗杲禅师法嗣。《嘉泰普灯录》卷一八、《五灯会元》卷二○有传。 释鼎需诗，据《续古尊宿语要》所收《懒庵需禅师语》等书所录，编为一卷。
