《赠秀才入军·其十四》鉴赏
原文
息徒兰圃，秣马华山。
流磻平皋，垂纶长川。
目送归鸿，手挥五弦。
俯仰自得，游心太玄。
嘉彼钓叟，得鱼忘筌。
郢人逝矣，谁与尽言？
赏析
本篇原列第十四首，诗人想象嵇喜行军之暇领略山水乐趣的情景。他将在长满兰草的野地上休息，在鲜花盛开的山坡上喂马，在草地上弋鸟，在长河里钓鱼。一边若有所思地目送南归的鸿雁，一边信手抚弹五弦琴。他的心神游于天地自然之中，随时随地都对自然之道有所领悟。显然这里所写的与其说是征人生活，不如说是抒写诗人自己纵心自然的情趣。最后诗人用《庄子》中“匠石斫垩”的典故来表达自己对嵇喜从军远去的惋惜心情。此诗中“目送归鸿，手挥五弦”二句是历来为人们所称道的妙句。它以凝练的语言传写出高士飘然出世、心游物外的风神，传达出一种悠然自得、与造化相侔的哲理境界。

嵇康（224－263，一说223－262），字叔夜，汉族，三国时期魏国谯郡铚县（今安徽省宿州市西）人。著名思想家、音乐家、文学家。正始末年与阮籍等竹林名士共倡玄学新风，主张“越名教而任自然”、“审贵贱而通物情”，为“竹林七贤”的精神领袖。曾娶曹操曾孙女，官曹魏中散大夫，世称嵇中散。后因得罪钟会，为其构陷，而被司马昭处死。
