《襄阳怀古》鉴赏
原文
襄阳太守沉碑意，身后身前几年事。
湘江千岁未为陵，水底鱼龙应识字。
赏析
从《全唐诗》所收鲍溶的三卷诗看，鲍溶到过南方很多地方，取道襄阳或许不止一次。这是一首写襄阳的怀古咏史诗。
这首诗写了襄阳太守杜预沉碑的故事。杜预，西晋时著名的政治家、学者，灭吴统一战争的统帅之一。杜预本人极有才略，但是好名。他曾为镇南大将军，都督荆州诸军事，长期驻襄阳。
此诗前两句：“襄阳太守沉碑意，身后身前几年事。”沉碑，指杜预刻二碑记功之事。襄阳城西北十里有万山；其下有沉碑潭。《晋书·杜预传》：“预好为后世名，常言：‘高岸为谷，深谷为陵’。刻古为二碑，纪其勋绩，一沉万山之下，一立岘山之上，曰：‘焉知此后不为陵谷乎！’”自此以来一直为后人所传闻。后两句：“湘江千岁未为陵，水底鱼龙应识字。”湘：系“襄”误。这两句是说：襄江并未随着岁月的推移变成山谷。那沉入水底的碑文，应该还是清晰可见吧。这里说明人的功业是不会随着岁月的沧桑而消失的。

鲍溶，字德源，生卒年、籍贯不详，元和四年进士，是中唐时期的重要诗人。晚唐诗人、诗论家张为著《诗人主客图》，尊鲍溶为“博解宏拔主”．将他与“广大教化主”白居易、“高古奥逸主”孟云卿、“清奇雅正主”李益、“清奇僻苦主”盂郊、“瑰奇美丽主”武元衡并列。为“六主”之一。宋代欧阳修、曾巩等对他的诗歌也颇为欣赏。
