一尺圆潭深黑色，篆文如丝人不识。耕夫云住赫连城，
赫连城下亲耕得。镜上磨莹一月馀，日中渐见菱花舒。
金膏洗拭鉎涩尽，黑云吐出新蟾蜍。人言此是千年物，
百鬼闻之形暗栗，玉匣曾经龙照来，岂宜更鉴农夫质。
有时霹雳半夜惊，窗中飞电如晦明。盘龙鳞胀玉匣溢，
牙爪触风时有声。耕夫不解珍灵异，翻惧赫连神作祟。
十千卖与灵台兄，百丈灵湫坐中至。溢匣水色如玉倾，
儿童不敢窥泓澄。寒光照人近不得，坐愁雷电湫中生。
吾兄吾兄须爱惜，将来慎勿虚抛掷。兴云致雨会有时，
莫遣红妆秽灵迹。

薛逢，字陶臣，蒲洲河东（今山西永济县）人，会昌元年（公元八四一）进士。历侍御史、尚书郎。因恃才傲物，议论激切，屡忤权贵，故仕途颇不得意。《全唐诗》收录其诗一卷。《旧唐书》卷一九零，《新唐书》卷二零三皆有传。
