六十得一儿，命名曰老子。头大趾亦方，眉秀目颇美。
唇齿红且白，鬓脚垂两耳。肌肤更坚实，神色一秋水。
忆昔学行时，匪跌即跛倚。脚根一有力，疾走竟不止。
出入有所见，历历用手指。有时牵我衣，一步一回视。
及其渐学语，小鸟鸣花里。舌尖涩且艰，句句带渣滓。
一朝语忽明，轻清真可喜。饭熟叫我食，天明呼我起。
客来方揖罢，报我几倒屣。张拱学侍立，差可成人比。
见我看书时，拉取凭小几。而也而也诵，指字直到底。
有时见作书，彼则强索纸。把笔信糊涂，殆若归鸦比。
岁时或祀先，我跽彼亦跽。我口方致词，彼口亦云尔。
老夫见乖觉，自庆得兰茝。夫何香不永，遽逐萧艾死。
尔死我何堪，哭声彻闾里。坐卧欲发狂，动作自委靡。
有时梦中见，血泪流未巳。

叶元玉，号古崖，清流县人。明成化十七年(1481)进士，初为户部侍郎，后任广东潮州知府。为清流著名诗人，著有《古崖集》。
