于乎玉山翁，先世吴右族。生逢元盛时，当路屡推毂。
辞荣乐萧散，竟蕴璞中玉。早持万金产，转手授家督。
不为五岳游，家园莳花竹。读书数千卷，旁覈聃与竺。
非无酒如渑，过客佳乃肃。徒见驷马车，未若一儒服。
缁黄粲然者，待遇亦刮目。常言性嗜诗，趣味胜粱肉。
兴来抉云汉，毫端注飞瀑。词林采英华，琰刻播芬馥。
承平三十年，啸傲心自足。世故一变更，十室九颠覆。
幽栖绰山下，拟比王官谷。时余逃难来，憔悴如病鹄。
相见恨殊晚，姓名闻已熟。夜饮嘉树轩，明朝杯又续。
高堂桂花秋，金钗剪银烛。双歌棹觥船，洗我愁万斛。
一留两月馀，坐客常五六。写图纪觞咏，坠水亦有曲。
连床可诗斋，清话屡同宿。择邻移我家，岁晚安且燠。
奈何鼙鼓声，忽若雷震屋。娄人悉惊散，我亦猿失木。
萍漂甫里东，卖文如卖卜。感翁数相过，馈问慰穷蹙。
翁亦客槜李，远避赋蛇毒。山川郁相望，诗筒时往复。
陵谷复一变，翁归理松菊。松菊理未能，蒺藜俄困辱。
余舟榜笠泽，访旧宿西塾。夜深屏舆隶，促膝语心腹。
春风旧池馆，荒烟秋草绿。朝廷更化初，召役事重穋。
挈家赴临濠，星言去程速。送行愧邹游，口占谢龟缩。
诗去秋复春，客来书满幅。念我及儿辈，举室蒙记录。

谢应芳（1295～1392）元末明初学者。字子兰，号龟巢，常州武进（今属江苏）人。自幼钻研理学，隐白鹤溪上，名其室为“龟巢”，因以为号。授徒讲学，议论必关世教，导人为善，元末避地吴中，明兴始归，隐居芳茂山，素履高洁，为学者所宗，有《辨惑编》、《龟巢稿》等。
