皤皤岷山老，抱琴鬓苍然。
译文：岷山老人头发斑白，抱着古琴两鬓苍然。
注释：皤皤：白发苍苍的样子。岷山：这里指蜀地的山。苍然：灰白色。
衫袖拂玉徽，为弹三峡泉。
译文：衫袖拂过白玉琴徽，为我弹奏三峡流泉。
注释：玉徽：白色的系琴弦的绳，指琴弦。
此曲弹未半，高堂如空山。
译文：此曲尚未弹到一半，高堂之上好似空山。
石林何飕飗，忽在窗户间。
译文：风声飕飕穿过石林，好像就在窗户之间。
注释：石林：林立的山石。飕飕：风声。
绕指弄呜咽，青丝激潺湲。
译文：手指环绕琴声呜咽，琴弦进出流水潺潺。
注释：绕指：手指弹琴时的柔韧动作。弄：拨弄。青丝，指琴弦。激：迸射。潺泼：水徐徐流动的声音。
演漾怨楚云，虚徐韵秋烟。
译文：幽怨好似楚天浮云，飘渺有如万里秋烟。
注释：演漾：声音飘荡。楚，原指长江中下游一带，这里泛指南方。虚徐，飘渺舒缓。韵，风韵。
疑兼阳台雨，似杂巫山猿。
译文：更有阳台阵阵细雨，夹杂巫山声声啼猿。
注释：兼：兼有。阳台，即阳云台，在巫山之下，这里指楚地。杂：夹杂。巫山猿，见高适《送李少府贬峡中王少府贬长沙>诗注。
幽引鬼神听，净令耳目便。
译文：曲调幽深逗引鬼神，琴声纯净动人心弦。
注释：幽：深远。净，纯正。便，适合。
楚客肠欲断，湘妃泪斑斑。
译文：楚客为之愁肠欲断，湘妃为之泪落斑斑。
注释：楚客：指屈原。湘妃：湘水女神。相传尧帝的两个女儿娥皇、女英嫁与舜为妃，闻舜死，泪下沾竹，竹叶上生了斑点。
谁裁青桐枝，縆以朱丝弦。
译文：是谁用那青桐木料，拉上根根红色琴弦？
注释：青桐：梧桐，木可制琴。亘：横列。朱丝弦：红色的琴弦。
能含古人曲，递与今人传。
译文：琴中弹出古人乐曲，乐曲转给今人流传。
注释：递：传递。
知音难再逢，惜君方年老。
译文：知音本来不易再逢，可惜您已到了老年。
注释：知音：相传春秋时伯牙善鼓琴，钟子期善听琴，能从伯牙的琴声中听出他的心意，后因此称知己朋友为“知音”。
曲终月已落，惆怅东斋眠。
译文：曲子奏完月已西落，惆帐且回东斋独眠。
注释：斋：屋舍。

岑参（约715-770年），唐代边塞诗人，南阳人，太宗时功臣岑文本重孙，后徙居江陵。[1-2] 岑参早岁孤贫，从兄就读，遍览史籍。唐玄宗天宝三载（744年）进士，初为率府兵曹参军。后两次从军边塞，先在安西节度使高仙芝幕府掌书记；天宝末年，封常清为安西北庭节度使时，为其幕府判官。代宗时，曾官嘉州刺史（今四川乐山），世称“岑嘉州”。大历五年（770年）卒于成都。
