高卧南斋时，开帷月初吐。
译文：我和从弟在南斋高卧的时候，掀开窗帘玩赏那初升的玉兔。
注释：帷：帘幕，一作“帐”。
清辉澹水木，演漾在窗户。
译文：淡淡月光泻在水上泄在树上，轻悠悠的波光涟漪荡入窗户。
注释：澹：水缓缓地流。演漾：水流摇荡。
冉冉几盈虚，澄澄变今古。
译文：光阴苒苒这窗月已几盈几虚，清光千年依旧世事不同今古。
注释：冉冉：渐渐。一作“荏苒”，指时间的推移。几盈虚：月亮圆缺反复多次。澄澄：清亮透明，指月色。
美人清江畔，是夜越吟苦。
译文：德高望重崔少府在清江河畔，他今夜必定如庄舄思越之苦。
注释：美人：旧时也指自己思暮的人，这里指崔少府。越吟：楚国庄舄（xì）唱越歌以寄托乡思。这是以越切山阴，意谓想必在越中苦吟诗篇。
千里共如何，微风吹兰杜。
译文：千里迢迢可否共赏醉人婵娟？微风吹拂着清香四溢的兰杜。
注释：共：一作“其”。如何：一作“何如”。吹：一作“出”。兰杜：兰花和杜若，都是香草。兰，一作“芳”。

王昌龄 (698— 756），字少伯，河东晋阳（今山西太原）人。盛唐著名边塞诗人，后人誉为“七绝圣手”。早年贫贱，困于农耕，年近不惑，始中进士。初任秘书省校书郎，又中博学宏辞，授汜水尉，因事贬岭南。与李白、高适、王维、王之涣、岑参等交厚。开元末返长安，改授江宁丞。被谤谪龙标尉。安史乱起，为刺史闾丘所杀。其诗以七绝见长，尤以登第之前赴西北边塞所作边塞诗最著，有“诗家夫子王江宁”之誉（亦有“诗家天子王江宁”的说法）。
