赵昌父七月望日用东坡韵叙太白、东坡事见寄，过相褒借，且有秋水之约。八月十四日，余卧病博山寺中，因用韵为谢，兼寄吴子似。
译文：赵昌父七月十五日用苏东坡《水调歌头·明月几时有》词韵写了一首关于李太白、苏东坡之事见寄，对我过分地赞美和推许，并且约我中秋一同泛舟。八月十四日，我因病卧床在博山寺中，于是用其词原韵写了这首词答谢他，并把此词寄给吴子似。
注释：水调歌头：词牌名，又名“元会曲”“台城游”等。双调九十五字，上片九句四平韵，下片十句四平韵。赵昌父：即赵蕃，辛弃疾的朋友。七月望日：七月十五。用东坡韵：指依苏轼《水调歌头·明月几时有》篇韵脚填词。太白、东坡事：因赵昌父原词亡佚，李白事所指不详，恐当是梦天、邀月一类事。过相褒借：过于褒奖、过于推许。秋水之约：或指相约八月中秋泛舟。博山寺：寺名。当因寺在博山得名。博山当为铅山境内小山。谢：答谢，答复。吴子似：即吴绍古，鄱阳人，南宋宁宗庆元四年（1198）任铅山县尉。
我志在寥阔，畴昔梦登天。摩挲素月，人世俯仰已千年。有客骖鸾并凤，云遇青山赤壁，相约上高寒。酌酒援北斗，我亦虱其间。
译文：我的志向在那辽阔的宇宙，前些日子我在梦中登上了蓝天。用手抚摸着皎洁的明月，瞬息度过了人间的千年。又梦见你乘着鸾鸟、凤凰，遇见了苏轼和李白诗仙，相约一起登上了月宫广寒，拿起北斗作为勺子舀酒畅饮，我也有幸在你们中间。
注释：寥廓：指广阔无垠的宇宙太空。畴昔：昨晚。摩挲：用手抚摸。素月：皎洁的明月。俯仰：俯仰之间，即低头、抬头之间，形容时间极短。此句是说天上片刻，人间已过千年。客：此处指赵昌父。骖：古代驾车时位于两旁的马。这句是说以鸾和凤为骖。青山、赤壁：代指李白和苏轼，李白死后葬于青山，苏轼贬官黄州之时，有赤壁之游。高寒：天上高寒之处，指月宫。“有客”三句说，有客乘鸾跨凤，和李白、苏轼相约，共上月宫游赏。酌酒：斟酒。援北斗：《楚辞·九歌·东君》：“援北斗兮酌桂浆。”援，手持。虱其间：意谓以渺小无才之身参与其事。“酌酒”两句是说，他们以北斗为勺，开怀畅饮，我也有幸厕身其间。
少歌曰：神甚放，形如眠。鸿鹄一再高举，天地睹方圆。欲重歌兮梦觉，推枕惘然独念，人事底亏全？有美人可语，秋水隔婵娟。
译文：我轻轻地吟唱起心中的波澜：“别看我形体如在睡眠一般，精神却自由奔放，达观旷远。我要像天鹅一次次举翅高飞，看看这天地是方是圆。”我想再唱啊，却从梦中醒来，推开枕头心中怅惘升起疑念：人间事为什么总难圆满？这心事虽然可向知心朋友倾谈，一泓秋水却把你隔得老远老远。
注释：少歌：即“小歌”，指乐章的一部分。神甚放：形容神魂自由腾飞，无拘无束。鸿：大雁。鹄：天鹅。高举：高飞。重歌：指反复歌唱。梦觉：梦醒。推枕：推开枕头，起身。惘然：茫然若失的样子。底亏全：为什么会有亏有全。美人：指知己朋友。此处指吴子似。婵娟：形容姿容美好。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
