白日射金阙，虎豹九关开。见君谏疏频上，谈笑挽天回。千古忠肝义胆，万里蛮烟瘴雨，往事莫惊猜。政恐不免耳，消息日边来。
译文：赞扬汤朝美堂堂正正的把“进谏之剑”对着帝王居住的地方射去，哪怕是有虎豹把守的九道门，也敢冲破而入。终于使皇帝听了他的政见。汤朝美屡次向皇上进谏，从不计较个人安危，不怕担风险。这一副“忠肝义胆”是能够流传千古的，可惜的是，这样的人却遭到了贬谪，到偏僻荒蛮的地方去受苦。汤朝美还是要做官的，好消息将要从皇帝身边传来。
注释：金阕：均喻指宫廷。万里蛮烟瘴雨：指汤朝美贬新州事。新州，即今广东新兴县，在当时被认为是僻远蛮荒之地。政：同“正”。此借用东晋谢安语。
笑吾庐，门掩草，径封苔。未应两手无用，要把蟹螯杯。说剑论诗余事，醉舞狂歌欲倒，老子颇堪哀。白发宁有种？一一醒时栽！
译文：门前长满荒草，小道也长满苔藓，想想自己的处境只能付之一笑。两只手没有用处，只能把着蟹螯杯，借酒消愁，打发日子。于是只有说剑、论诗、醉舞、狂歌在忧愁中度日，头上长出来白头发，醒来的时候一根一根拔掉。
注释：蟹螯杯：喻指饮酒吃蟹。老子：指老了之后。栽：喻指将白发一根根的拔掉。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
