冬前冬后几村庄，溪北溪南两履霜，树头树底孤山上。冷风袭来何处香？忽相逢缟袂绡裳。酒醒寒惊梦，笛凄春断肠，淡月昏黄。
译文：冬前冬后转遍了几个村庄，踏遍了溪南溪北，双脚都沾满了霜，又爬上孤山，在梅树丛中上下寻觅，都未见到梅花的踪迹，寻梅不遇，沮丧地立于山头，忽然一阵寒风吹来，不知从何处带来一阵幽香，蓦然回首，她竟然就在身后，那样淡妆素雅，俏然而立。我顿时如遇梅花仙子一般，惊讶于她的清丽脱俗，沉醉于她的风华绝代。然而春寒使我从醉梦中醒来，听到凄怨的笛声，便想到春天会尽，梅花也会片片凋落，此时淡淡的月色笼罩着黄昏。
注释：双调：宫调名；水仙子：曲牌名；寻梅：曲题。两履霜：一双鞋沾满了白霜。孤山：此指杭州西湖之孤山，位处里外二湖之间，又名瀛屿，旧时多梅，是号称“梅妻鹤子”的北宋诗人林逋的隐居处。缟袂：白绢做的衣袖。缟，白色的绢。绡裳：生丝薄绸做的下衣。绡，生丝织成的薄绸。此处言“缟袂绡裳”，是将梅花拟人化，将其比作缟衣素裙的美女，圣洁而飘逸。“酒醒“句：是说醉卧梅下，因寒气侵袭而惊醒。淡月昏黄：月色朦胧（空气中浮动着梅花的幽香）。

乔吉(1280?～1345) 元代杂剧家、散曲作家。一称乔吉甫，字梦符，号笙鹤翁，又号惺惺道人。太原人，流寓杭州。钟嗣成在《录鬼簿》中说他“美姿容，善词章，以威严自饬，人敬畏之”，又作吊词云：“平生湖海少知音，几曲宫商大用心。百年光景还争甚？空赢得，雪鬓侵，跨仙禽，路绕云深。”从中大略可见他的为人。剧作存目十一，有《杜牧之诗酒扬州梦》、《李太白匹配金钱记》、《玉箫女两世姻缘》三种传世。
