闾丘大夫孝终公显尝守黄州，作栖霞楼，为郡中胜绝。元丰五年，余谪居黄。正月十七日，梦扁舟渡江，中流回望，楼中歌乐杂作。舟中人言：公显方会客也。觉而异之，乃作此词，盖越调鼓笛慢。公显时已致仕在苏州。
注释：栖霞楼：唐宋时期黄州的四大名楼之一。最早为江西临川人王义庆所建，后为闾丘孝终守黄州时重建。闾丘大夫孝终公显：即闾丘孝终，字公显。作者友人。曾任黄州知州，致仕（退休）后归苏州故里。胜绝：绝佳的名胜。扁舟：小船。鼓笛慢：据考证指词牌“水龙吟”。致仕：退休。
小舟横截春江，卧看翠壁红楼起。云间笑语，使君高会，佳人半醉。危柱哀弦，艳歌余响，绕云萦水。念故人老大，风流未减，独回首、烟波里。
译文：小船横渡春天的江面，我睡在船中看两岸翠绿的山峦，其间有一座红色的高楼。那高高的栖霞楼直入云端，笑语声阵阵飘出，这是太守您在雅聚啊，美丽歌女都已醉意朦胧。演奏音乐声音高亢悲怨。这歌声回旋，悠扬动听，飘荡在云水之间。您虽然年事已高，但风流潇洒仍一如从前。我梦游春江，回头只看到您在烟波之中。
注释：截：直渡。红楼：指栖霞楼。云间：形容栖霞楼之高。高会：雅聚。危柱哀弦：指演奏音乐，乐声凄绝。危，高，谓定音高而厉。柱，筝瑟之类乐器上的枕木，移至高处则声高厉。哀弦，指声音悲怨。“艳歌”两句：用秦青“响遏行云”典故。绕云萦水：形容歌声高亢回旋，悠扬动听。故人老大：言闾丘孝终年事己高。老大，年岁大。
推枕惘然不见，但空江、月明千里。五湖闻道，扁舟归去，仍携西子。云梦南州，武昌东岸，昔游应记。料多情梦里，端来见我，也参差是。
译文：推开枕头坐起身朱，这才发现是一场梦，眼前不见老友，只有空荡荡的江面，明月的清光无限。太守您懂得功成身退之道，已然早早去到苏州隐居了。您一定还记得当年我们在黄州之时吧，我们曾四处游玩，十分快乐。您是多情之人，料想您也定在梦中梦到我了，那情形大概就和我梦到您是一样的吧。
注释：惘然：迷茫的样子。“五湖”三句：五湖，泛指太湖一带地方。西子，西施。春秋时期，越相范蠡辅佐越王勾践灭吴。勾践命他为上将军，但他知道大名之下难以久居，就携带宝珠，乘舟浮海，终不返。传说范蠡还携带西施出走。云梦南州：指黄州，因其在古云梦泽之南。武昌东岸：亦指黄州。武昌为今湖北鄂城，与黄州隔江相对。长江经黄州时南流，黄州在武昌东岸。多情：多情的人，指闾丘孝终。端来：准来，定来。参差是：大概如此，指如自己梦见闾丘孝终的情形。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
