译文
江城扬州充满风情的笙管笛萧声和歌声十分热烈而温柔，一阵小雨经过了宽敞的平山堂，清澈的月光笼罩西楼，已经如此一大把的年纪，如同是在三生石上陶然迷醉的梦境中，虽然是夏日的六月，却凉爽如秋，弹奏锦瑟的美人是在劝酒，卷起朱帘又出来一队舞女，踩踏着《凉州》舞曲的节奏。我已经乘船离开送别者还在殷勤挽留，只见两岸上的树影婆娑天空中银河悠悠。
注释
双调：宫调名。蟾宫曲：是元曲牌名，属北曲双调。也是昆曲里一支用途极广的北曲曲牌。
江城,：即扬州。
平山：指平山堂，在扬州蜀冈中峰大明寺西侧，欧阳修所建。
几许：多少。
三生：佛教理论，认为人有前生、今生、来生。
锦瑟：弹拨乐器，五十弦，瑟上花纹如锦。
凉州：唐代天宝乐曲名，多表现边塞题材。
留：挽留。
河汉：天河，也称银河。

蟾宫曲·扬州汪右丞席上即事创作背景
此小令是卢挚在扬州汪右丞的宴席上的即兴之作。时逢大德七年（1303年），卢挚由湖南肃政廉访使北上，在扬州逗留，与友人相聚，久别重逢的欣喜促使他写下了此小令。

蟾宫曲·扬州汪右丞席上即事鉴赏
“江城歌吹风流，雨过平山，月满西楼”。开篇三句点明时间地点，同时写出良宵美景。“扬州”在古代一直是个繁华的高消费城市。唐代在繁荣热闹方面简直可以和首都长安相比，而夜生活则远远超过长安，“平山”兼有读书、讲学、观景之功能，因为南望江南远山正与栏杆桕平而得名。这次欢送宴会大概就在这里举行。“月满西楼”是李清照《一剪梅》中的原话，却天衣无缝。这三句写景如画，一阵雨过后，天气转晴，雨后的天空如洗。雨水冲刷了天地间的一切尘埃，又给这里送来了清爽。这对于正在欣赏歌舞品尝美酒佳肴的主客无疑是一种助兴，气氛会更加热烈。
“几许年华，三生醉梦，六月凉秋”三句触景生情。转写自己的主观感受。卢挚三十七岁时曾任江东按察副使在扬州衙门，此次再到扬州已经是二十多年过去了，自己也年过花甲，旧地重游，又见故人，感慨之多不难想象，人生如梦的感觉用“三生醉梦”来表达，更增加许多迷离朦胧，正逢这六月中却有凉爽的初秋的感觉，心情自然起伏难平。本来就百感交集之时，送别的场景再掀高潮，“按锦瑟佳人劝酒，卷朱帘齐按凉州”再转向当时场景，弹奏锦瑟的美人可能是劝酒曲或是唱着劝酒词，卷起朱帘又出来一队舞蹈演员挑着“凉州”舞曲。“卷朱帘”三字属于纪实笔法，可知是很大的演出厅，旁边还有一些化妆室等，所以节目按照顺序逐渐出场，而这是又一个高潮。“客去还留”则写离开时依依惜别和主人殷勤挽留的情景。“云树萧萧，河汉悠悠”是写离开后在船上所看到的景色。虽然不是“杨柳岸，晓风残月”的苍凉，却也很空旷悠远，与前面的热闹形成对比，委婉抒发别后的冷清和寂寞。
全篇景起景收，中间叙事兼抒情，意脉清晰，一波三折，尺幅中便有波澜，是一篇值得品味的佳作。

卢挚（1242-1314），字处道，一字莘老；号疏斋，又号蒿翁。元代涿郡（今河北省涿县）人。至元5年(1268)进士，任过廉访使、翰林学士。诗文与刘因、姚燧齐名，世称“刘卢”、“姚卢”。与白朴、马致远、珠帘秀均有交往。散曲如今仅存小令。著有《疏斋集》（已佚）《文心选诀》《文章宗旨》,传世散曲一百二十首。有的写山林逸趣，有的写诗酒生活，而较多的是“怀古”，抒发对故国的怀念。今人有《卢疏斋集辑存》，《全元散曲》录存其小令。
