客来访西涯，扁舟舣湖口。指点城外山，问讯风中柳。
我已沿旧说，溪桥未深剖。看花年复年，鸥鸟笑人否。
譬如名士居，不曾辨谁某。一旦识姓氏，翻悔坐失久。
快读西涯诗，西涯胸中有。文章惊一代，眉寿夸十友。
翩然神其来，面目落吾手。纻衫与朱履，破椟僧能守。
风流渐销歇，我恐西涯负。但期随老渔，烟篷卖菱藕。

法式善（1752～1813）清代官吏、文学家。姓伍尧氏，原名运昌，字开文，别号时帆、梧门、陶庐、小西涯居士。乾隆四十五年进士，授检讨，官至侍读。乾隆帝盛赞其才，赐名“法式善”，满语“奋勉有为”之意。法式善曾参与编纂武英殿分校《四库全书》，是我国蒙古族中唯一参加编纂《四库全书》的作者，著有《存素堂集》、《梧门诗话》、《陶庐杂录》、《清秘述闻》等。
