伶仃七十翁，间关四千里。
纵非烟瘴窟，自无逃生理。
去年三伏中，叶舟遡梅水。
燥风扇烈日，热喘乘毒气。
盘回七十滩，颠顿常惊悸。
肌体若分裂，肝肠如擣碎。
支持达循州，荒凉一墟市。
托迹贡士闱，古屋已颓圮。
地湿暗流泉，风雨上不庇。
蛇鼠相交罗，蝼蝈声怪异。
短垣逼闾阎，檐楹接尺咫。
凡民多死丧，哭声常四起。
夷或哭其夫，父或哭其子。
尔哭我伤怀，伤怀那可止。
悲愁复悲愁，憔悴更憔悴。
阴阳寇乘之，不觉入腠理。
双足先蹒跚，两股更重膇。
拥肿大如椽，何止患蹠盭。
淫邪复入腹，喘促妨卧寐。
脾神与食仇，入口即呕哕。
膏肓势日危，和扁何为计。
人生固有终，盖棺亦旋已。
长儿在道涂，不及见吾毙。
老妻对我啼，数仆环雪涕。
绵蕞敛形骸，安能备丧礼。
孤柩倚中堂，几筵聊复尔。
骨肉远不知，邻里各相慰。

吴潜（1195—1262） 字毅夫，号履斋，宣州宁国（今属安徽）人。宁宗嘉定十年（1217）举进士第一，授承事郎，迁江东安抚留守。理宗淳祐十一年（1251）为参知政事，拜右丞相兼枢密使，封崇国公。次年罢相，开庆元年（1259）元兵南侵攻鄂州，被任为左丞相，封庆国公，后改许国公。被贾似道等人排挤，罢相，谪建昌军，徙潮州、循州。与姜夔、吴文英等交往，但词风却更近于辛弃疾。其词多抒发济时忧国的抱负与报国无门的悲愤。格调沉郁，感慨特深。著有《履斋遗集》，词集有《履斋诗余》。
