《鹦鹉灭火》翻译及注释

有鹦鹉飞集他山，山中禽兽辄相爱。鹦鹉自念虽乐，此山虽乐，然非吾久居之地，遂去，禽兽依依不舍后数月，山中大火。鹦鹉遥见，心急如焚，遂入水沾羽，飞而洒之。
译文： 有鹦鹉飞到其它山栖息，山中的飞禽走兽都喜欢它。鹦鹉想：在这山虽然快乐，但不是我长时间居住的地方，就离开了。好几个月后，山中起大火，鹦鹉远远地看见，心里急得像在焚烧，于是用水沾湿羽毛，飞过去洒向山。
注释： 集：栖息，停留。念：想。皆:都。去：离开。然何足道也：但是怎么能够灭火呢？足：能够。然：但是，然而。侨居：寄居，寄住。志：愿望；指灭火的心意。见：看见。
天神言：“汝虽有好意，然何足道也？”对曰：“虽知区区水滴不能救，然吾尝侨居是山，禽兽善待，皆为兄弟，吾不忍见其毁于火也！”
译文： 天神说:“你虽然有好的心意，但又有什么用呢？”鹦鹉回答:“我虽然知道一点点的水不能救它们。但是我曾经寄居在这座山，飞禽走兽友好地对待我如同兄弟，我只是不忍心看见它们被大火烧死罢了!”
注释： 虽：即使。是：这。善：好的。尝：曾经。皆：都。对：答。即：就。他山：别的山头。相：互相。相爱：喜欢它。遥：远远地。足：值得。汝：你。
天神嘉其义，即为之灭火。
译文： 天上的神赞扬它的行为，立即为它熄灭了大火。
注释： 嘉：赞美，嘉奖。为：给……做事。

刘义庆（403—444）汉族，彭城（今江苏徐州）人。字季伯，南北朝文学家。自幼才华出众，爱好文学，并广招四方文学之士，聚于门下。刘宋宗室，袭封临川王，公元444年（元嘉21年）死于建康（今南京）。除《世说新语》外，还著有志怪小说《幽明录》。
