予自孩幼随先人宦于古沔，女须因嫁焉。中去复来几二十年，岂惟姊弟之爱，沔之父老儿女子亦莫不予爱也。丙午冬，千岩老人约予过苕霅，岁晚乘涛载雪而下，顾念依依，殆不能去。作此曲别郑次臯、辛克清、姚刚中诸君。
注释：沔：甘肃省武都沮县。几二十年：是以他实际在汉阳居住的年月计算，除去了当中离开的时间。这一年姜夔随萧德藻东行，似乎就再没回到过汉阳。苕霅：指苕溪和霅溪。霅，水名，在乌程东南，合四水为一溪，霅，形容四水激射之声。诸君：郑次皋、辛克清、姚刚中：均为白石于沔鄂所交之友。
衰草愁烟，乱鸦送日，风沙回旋平野。拂雪金鞭，欺寒茸帽，还记章台走马。谁念漂零久，漫赢得幽怀难写。故人清沔相逢，小窗闲共情话。
译文：衰败的草丛在暮烟中愈加显得含愁带恨，乱纷纷的乌鸦把夕阳送下了西山，空旷的原野上，风沙在打旋。还记得往年这个时候，我们用金鞭拂开纷扬的飞雪，带着暖烘烘的毛皮帽子不怕寒冷，一起到大街上乘马游玩。如今有谁能关心我长期漂泊异乡？徒然积下满怀愁恨，却无法排遣。幸好在这清清的沔水之滨遇见你们这班好朋友，得以闲着无事．就一起在小窗前谈谈知心话。
注释：茸帽：即绒帽。茸，柔软的兽毛。章台走马：指少年壮游。汉长安有街名章台，繁华闹市。清沔：指沔水。古代通称汉水为沔水。汉阳位于汉水之畔。
长恨离多会少，重访问竹西，珠泪盈把。雁碛波平，渔汀人散，老去不堪游冶。无奈苕溪月，又照我扁舟东下。甚日归来，梅花零乱春夜。
译文：我常常引为恨事的，是我们分开的时候多，而聚首的机会很少。当我这次途经扬州，再一次到竹西亭去访问时，恐怕要禁不住悲从中来，潸然泪下了。你瞧那大雁栖息的沙滩，江波已经变得平静。渔舟来往的洲渚，游人已经散去。等我们到了年老时再一起去游玩，只怕体力和兴致都不足了。但是有什么办法呢？苕溪那边的明月，正照着我的扁舟，催促我向东边行去。啊，什么时候我才能回来，在梅花纷飞的春夜里与你们重新相聚？
注释：竹西：指扬州名胜竹西亭一带。雁碛：大雁栖息的沙滩。渔汀：渔舟停泊的岸地。游冶：游乐。苕溪：在浙江省北部，浙江八大水系之一，是太湖流域的重要支流。甚：什么。

姜夔，南宋文学家、音乐家。人品秀拔，体态清莹，气貌若不胜衣，望之若神仙中人。往来鄂、赣、皖、苏、浙间，与诗人词家杨万里、范成大、辛弃疾等交游。庆元中，曾上书乞正太常雅乐，他少年孤贫，屡试不第，终生未仕，一生转徙江湖，靠卖字和朋友接济为生。他多才多艺，精通音律，能自度曲，其词格律严密。其作品素以空灵含蓄著称，有《白石道人歌曲》等。姜夔对诗词、散文、书法、音乐，无不精善，是继苏轼之后又一难得的艺术全才。
