夜读《李广传》，不能寐。因念晁楚老、杨民瞻约同居山间，戏用李广事，赋以寄之。
故将军饮罢夜归来，长亭解雕鞍。恨灞陵醉尉，匆匆未识，桃李无言。射虎山横一骑，裂石响惊弦。落魄封侯事，岁晚田间。
译文：以前，汉代的李广将军，曾夜出与友人在田间饮酒，回到灞陵亭，下马住宿营，灞陵尉喝醉了出言侮辱他，虽然来时匆匆，灞陵尉可能还不认识李广将军。但李广将军闻名天下，桃李树虽然不会说话，树下自然成蹊。李将军在南山半腰里，一人一匹马去射猎，误把草丛里的石头当作老虎，弓弦发出了惊人的响声，箭镞射进了石头，把石头都射裂了。这样的英雄没有受到封侯，到了晚年，退居山村，过着耕田地、种菜园的生活。
注释：解雕鞍：卸下精美的马鞍，指下马。桃李无言：谚语“桃李不言，下自成蹊。”这里代指李广。裂石响惊弦：引用李广射石虎的典故。岁晚田间：指李广屡立战功却没有被封侯，晚年闲居田园。
谁向桑麻杜曲，要短衣匹马，移住南山？看风流慷慨，谈笑过残年。汉开边、功名万里，甚当时、健者也曾闲。纱窗外、斜风细雨，一阵轻寒。
译文：谁去杜曲去种桑麻？我是不去的。我要穿上轻便的短衣，骑上一匹马，到南山去学李广射虎的生活。我要风流潇洒，慷慨激昂、谈笑愉快地过一个幸福的晚年。汉代开拓边疆，打击侵略者，保卫边疆的事业是伟大的，不少的人在这个长约万里的国境线上，建功立业。可是，为什么正在非常需要人材的当时，像李广将军这样有胆略、有才干而且是曾经在边疆建立过奇功伟迹的人，也落职闲居呢？我正在沉思的时候，纱窗外，斜风细雨，送来一阵轻寒。
注释：边开：指西汉时开疆拓土向外扩张。甚：为何，为什么。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
