丙辰之冬，予留梁溪，将诣淮南不得，因梦思以述志。
译文：庆元二年的冬天，我留在无锡，将往合肥而不能实现，依照梦中所思以记述自己的感情。
注释：丙辰：宋宁宗庆元二年（1196）。梁溪：在今无锡市，相传因东汉梁鸿曾居此而得名。诣淮：到淮南去。合肥在淮河以南。诣，往。
人间离别易多时。见梅枝，忽相思。几度小窗幽梦手同携。今夜梦中无觅处，漫徘徊，寒侵被，尚未知。
译文：人世间的离别容易看重时节，见梅枝，相思情忽地涌上心头。几回小窗内幽深的梦里，花间漫步手牵手。今夜梦中找不到你，我徒自徘徊独游。梦中我还未感觉，寒气已将衾被浸透。
注释：幽梦：幽远的梦。
湿红恨墨浅封题。宝筝空，无雁飞。俊游巷陌，算空有、古木斜晖。旧约扁舟，心事已成非。歌罢淮南春草赋，又萋萋。漂零客，泪满衣。
译文：眼泪沾湿了红笺，怨恨饱和着墨迹。淡淡地封了信函，题了信头。宝筝空放久不弹，没有飞雁把书投。风流地游荡在大街小巷，想来只有古树斜阳空自留。旧目小舟共载的盟约，美好的心愿已付之东流。唱罢淮南小山“王孙不归”的诗句，恰好又是春草萋萋的时候。四处漂泊的游子，思念往事，泪满衣袖。
注释：湿红：一说，红泪。《丽情集》载蜀妓灼灼以软绡聚红泪寄裴质。一说，泪水湿透红笺。恨墨：表达运筹别恨的书信。封题：封缄书信。宝筝：筝的美称。无雁飞：即无人弹奏，雁柱不动。俊游：胜游，亦指良伴。算空有：意为算来空有……借指回忆过去。旧约：往日之约。淮南：指隐士淮南小山刘安。萋萋：草木生长茂盛的样子。

姜夔，南宋文学家、音乐家。人品秀拔，体态清莹，气貌若不胜衣，望之若神仙中人。往来鄂、赣、皖、苏、浙间，与诗人词家杨万里、范成大、辛弃疾等交游。庆元中，曾上书乞正太常雅乐，他少年孤贫，屡试不第，终生未仕，一生转徙江湖，靠卖字和朋友接济为生。他多才多艺，精通音律，能自度曲，其词格律严密。其作品素以空灵含蓄著称，有《白石道人歌曲》等。姜夔对诗词、散文、书法、音乐，无不精善，是继苏轼之后又一难得的艺术全才。
