南北朝：谢灵运
猿鸣诚知曙，谷幽光未显。
译文：从猿鸣声中可以知道已经是黎明了，但在幽深的山谷间却还看不到阳光。
注释：诚：确实，原本。曙：黎明。谷幽：山谷深邃而阴暗。
岩下云方合，花上露犹泫。
译文：山下的云方才还是合在一起的，野花上面的水珠仍然晶莹圆转。
注释：犹：仍然，还在。泫：水珠欲滴的样子。
逶迤傍隈隩，迢递陟陉岘。
译文：沿着弯弯曲曲的道路前进，又登上遥远的山路。
注释：逶迤：道路弯曲而漫长的样子。隈隩：山崖转弯的地方。迢递：遥远的样子。陟：登高。陉岘：山脉中断处叫陉，不太高的山岭叫岘。
过涧既厉急，登栈亦陵缅。
译文：通过溪涧也用不着脱衣服，爬上栈道就可以凌空面对高深的山谷。
注释：厉急：渡过急流。厉，“濿”之省文，穿着衣服涉水。栈：栈道。在山上用木材架成的道路。陵缅：凌空面对着高深的山谷。
川渚屡径复，乘流玩回转。
译文：溪谷沙洲时直时曲，弯来拐去，顺着溪流游玩，倒回来转过去。
注释：川渚：这里指河水。屡：每每，多次。径复：时直时曲，弯来拐去乘流：随着溪流。玩：欣赏的意思。回转：倒回来转过去。
苹萍泛沉深，菰蒲冒清浅。
译文：水草漂浮在深沉的水潭上，水生植物从清浅的水泽里伸出枝叶来。
注释：苹萍：都是水草，浮生水面。苹大萍小。沉深：指深沉的溪水。菰：即茭白。是生长在浅水中的植物。蒲：昌蒲。是生长在浅水中的植物。冒：覆盖。
企石挹飞泉，攀林摘叶卷。
译文：在石上提起脚跟，用脚趾做为全身的力点，去挹取飞溅的泉水，高攀丛林中的树枝，去摘取那还没有舒展开的初生卷叶。
注释：企：同“跂”，举踵。挹：舀。叶卷：即卷叶，初生尚未展开的嫩叶。
想见山阿人，薜萝若在眼。
译文：本想见到山里的高人隐士，却好像看到山角里有穿着薛荔衣，系着女萝带的“山鬼”。
注释：山阿人：指诗人所仰慕的高人隐士。薛萝：薜荔和女萝。
握兰勤徒结，折麻心莫展。
译文：手握兰花希望赠给知己，但却无法寄到，所以常常是忧思结于心中，折了疏麻却无从投赠给所思念的人，所以心愁莫展。
注释：勤：企望。麻：疏麻，又叫神麻，一种香草。
情用赏为美，事昧竟谁辨？
译文：自己所真心欣赏的就是最美的，何必还要去分辨其真假呢？
注释：用：以昧：不明。
观此遗物虑，一悟得所遣。
译文：看到这样动人的风景就会有所领悟而忘却世俗，排除一切烦恼。
注释：观此：观览沿途的景物。遗：弃，抛开。物虑：尘世问的各种顾虑。

谢灵运（385年－433年），东晋陈郡阳夏（今河南太康）人，出生在会稽始宁（今浙江上虞），原为陈郡谢氏士族。东晋名将谢玄之孙，小名“客”，人称谢客。又以袭封康乐公，称谢康公、谢康乐。著名山水诗人，主要创作活动在刘宋时代，中国文学史上山水诗派的开创者。由谢灵运始，山水诗乃成中国文学史上的一大流派，最著名的是《山居赋》，也是见诸史册的第一位大旅行家。谢灵运还兼通史学，工于书法，翻译佛经，曾奉诏撰《晋书》。《隋书·经籍志》、《晋书》录有《谢灵运集》等14种。
