南国本潇洒，六代浸豪奢。台城游冶，襞笺能赋属宫娃。云观登临清夏，璧月留连长夜，吟醉送年华。回首飞鸳瓦，却羡井中蛙。
译文：南方一带特别清丽可人，六朝贵族的生活逐渐到台城去游乐，宫中美人能在信笺上作诗。清和的初夏，登上宫廷中高大的楼台，璧月般的圆月流连一整夜，人们吟诗醉酒打发时光。回首往事陈朝宫殿被焚毁，值得羡慕的却是井中之蛙。
注释：南国：国之南方。六代：即六朝，三国吴、东晋、宋、齐、梁、陈，均建都于今南京。浸：渐进。襞笺：即指此。襞：折迭。云观：高耸入云的楼观。实指陈后主所建的结绮、临春、望仙三座高达数十丈的楼阁。飞鸳瓦：喻陈宫门被毁。鸳瓦：华丽建筑物上覆瓦的美称。井中蛙：陈宫城破后，后主偕二妃躲入井中，隋军窥井，扬言欲下石，后主惊叫，于是隋军用绳索把他们拉出井外。这里用来讽刺后主穷途末路，欲为井蛙亦不可得。
访乌衣，成白社，不容车。旧时王谢、堂前双燕过谁家？楼外河横斗挂，淮上潮平霜下，樯影落寒沙。商女篷窗罅，犹唱后庭花！
译文：走访乌衣巷，它成了贫民区，道窄过不去车。往日王、谢两大家族，堂前的一对燕子，究竟飞过谁家？秋天夜深时，楼外天空中银河自东南至西北横斜于天，北斗星星柄指北，看上去下垂若挂。秦淮河上潮水平稳。白霜结下，船桅杆的影子落在寒沙上。卖唱的歌女躲在船的缝隙中，仍然在唱小曲《后庭花》。
注释：乌衣：即乌衣巷，在秦淮河南，东吴时是乌衣营驻地，故名。晋南渡后，王、谢等名家豪居于此。白社：洛阳地名，晋高士董京常宿于白社，乞讨度日。这里作为贫民区的代名词。河横：银河横斜。斗挂：北斗星挂在天际。淮上：指秦淮河上。樯影：船桅杆的影子。寒沙：是指河边的沙石，因是秋天月夜，所以称寒沙。商女：歌女。蓬：船蓬，代指船。罅：缝隙。后庭花：即陈后主所制《玉树后庭花》，为靡靡之音，时人以为陈亡国的预兆。

贺铸(1052～1125) 北宋词人。字方回，号庆湖遗老。汉族，卫州（今河南卫辉）人。宋太祖贺皇后族孙，所娶亦宗室之女。自称远祖本居山阴，是唐贺知章后裔，以知章居庆湖（即镜湖），故自号庆湖遗老。
