爱吾庐、傍湖千顷，苍茫一片清润。晴岚暖翠融融处，花影倒窥天镜。沙浦迥。看野水涵波，隔柳横孤艇。眠鸥未醒。甚占得莼乡，都无人见，斜照起春暝。
译文：我爱自己的家园，陋室依傍千顷镜湖，天地间清凉朗澈一片。睛暖的山光，苍翠的树色，斑驳的花影，都映照在月下的镜湖间。远处有沙滩，看镜湖水波荡漾，柳荫之下横停一只小船。鸥鸟未醒犹在眠。此处富有莼羹、鲈鱼，人们视而不见，惟见夕阳带来春日的傍晚。
注释：摸鱼子：词牌名。清润：指湖水清澄明净。晴岚：晴日山林中的雾气。天镜：指湖面。迥：远。莼乡：用张翰在外做官思念家乡莼羹、鲈鱼脍的典故，此处指隐居之处。
还重省。岂料山中秦晋，桃源今度难认。林间即是长生路，一笑原非捷径。深更静。待散发吹箫，跨鹤天风冷。凭高露饮。正碧落尘空，光摇半壁，月在万松顶。
译文：再三思忖。人们寻觅晋武陵人到过的桃花源，纵然找到，有谁知道这个桃花源是秦还是晋，恐怕见了也难认。莫说隐居在林泉间就是长生之路，我朗然一笑，要晓得隐居也不是捷径可攀。我待要披散着头发，吹箫跨鹤登仙而去，何惧天风高寒。凌风饮露，远离尘缘。恰月光荡摇半面山崖，一轮明月升上万松山巅。
注释：山中秦晋、桃源：用陶渊明《桃花源记》的故事。捷径：指通过隐居、抬高身价而出仕求官的道路。碧落：犹云碧空。

张炎（1248年－1320年），字叔夏，号玉田，晚年号乐笑翁。祖籍陕西凤翔。六世祖张俊，宋朝著名将领。父张枢，“西湖吟社”重要成员，妙解音律，与著名词人周密相交。张炎是勋贵之后，前半生居于临安，生活优裕，而宋亡以后则家道中落，晚年漂泊落拓。著有《山中白云词》，存词302首。张炎另一重要的贡献在于创作了中国最早的词论专著《词源》，总结整理了宋末雅词一派的主要艺术思想与成就，其中以“清空”，“骚雅”为主要主张。
