昔拟栩仙人王云鹤赠予诗云：“寄与闲闲傲浪仙，枉随诗酒堕凡缘。黄尘遮断来时路，不到蓬山五百年。”其后玉龟山人云：“子前身赤城子也。”予因以诗寄之云：“玉龟山下古仙真，许我天台一化身。拟折玉莲闻白鹤，他年沧海看扬尘。”吾友赵礼部庭玉说，丹阳子谓予再世苏子美也。赤城子则吾岂敢，若子美则庶几焉。尚愧辞翰微不及耳。因作此以寄意焉。
译文：过去王云鹤曾赠诗给我，意思是：告诉你这个高傲散漫的仙人闲闲居士，你因为既喜饮酒又爱吟诗而堕入了尘世。漫天黄尘遮蔽了来时的道路，你不到蓬莱仙山已五百年了。斯有个隐士玉山人对我说，你的前身是神仙赤城子。于是我写了一首七绝回答他们，诗的意思是：玉龟山下的真仙人，说我是天台山上神仙的化身。准备骑着白鹤去折仙境的玉莲花，待到将来再看沧海变桑田时扬起的尘埃。我的朋友礼部官员赵庭玉告诉我说，丹阳子说我是北宋文学家苏舜钦的后身。说我是神仙赤城子，那真担当不起，说是苏舜钦再世还差不多，惭愧的是我的文章比他还差一点。因此，我写了下面这首《水调歌头》以寄意。
注释：水调歌头，词牌名，又名“元会曲”“凯歌”“台城游”“水调歌”“花犯念奴”“花犯”。拟栩仙人：王云鹤（中立）的别号。丹阳子：马钰（从义）的别号。苏子美：北宋文学家苏舜钦（字子美）。
四明有狂客，呼我谪仙人。俗缘千劫不尽，回首落红尘。我欲骑鲸归去，只恐神仙官府，嫌我醉时真。笑拍群仙手，几度梦中身。
译文：像当年贺知章称李白为“谪仙人”一样，友人也称我为“谪仙人”。我历尽千劫依然尘缘未了，就落到了红尘中。我原本想骑着大鲸返回仙界，又担心神仙官府中的规矩会约束我，嫌我太过于率真。在梦中我几度和群仙畅谈，言笑晏晏。
注释：千劫：千世。劫为佛教用语，世界经历若干万年毁灭一次，称一劫。
倚长松，聊拂石，坐看云。忽然黑霓落手，醉舞紫毫春。寄语沧浪流水，曾识闲闲居士，好为濯冠巾。却返天台去，华发散麒麟。
译文：倚长松，聊拂石，坐看云起云落，乐哉悠哉。不时以紫毫之笔，蘸天上的黑霓作墨，醉酒当书，狂放恣意。告诉那沧浪之水，可识得我闲闲居士，我要用你去洗净那尘世间的肮脏，把清白还给人间，然后我再返回天台，在那里披着头发骑着麒麟遨游于仙界。
注释：紫毫：笔的一种，用紫黑色的兽毛制成。闲闲居士：作者自号。天台：山名，在今浙江天台州境内，是仙霞岭的余脉。麒麟：传说中的神兽。

赵秉文（1159～1232）金代学者、书法家。字周臣，号闲闲居士，晚年称闲闲老人。磁州滏阳（今河北磁县）人。世宗大定二十五年进士，调安塞主簿。历平定州刺史，为政宽简。累拜礼部尚书。哀宗即位，改翰林学士，同修国史。历仕五朝，自奉如寒士，未尝一日废书。能诗文，诗歌多写自然景物，又工草书，所著有《闲闲老人滏水文集》。
