长安道，投老倦游归。七十古来稀。藕花雨湿前湖夜，桂枝风澹小山时。怎消除？须殢酒，更吟诗。
译文：从长安告老回家了，在一直呆过了七十年之后；多么的不易呀，七十年，这自古以来都少有！——我倦了，与其闲置，不如归来。归来好啊：夏天，看荷花：凉雨过后，池塘的夜多美；秋天，看桂花：淡淡的风里，小山也不错。别问怎么打发这日子？——喝酒，喝酒；再不，写写诗吧。
注释：投老：垂老，临老。殢酒：困于酒。殢，沉溺，困倦。
也莫向竹边孤负雪。也莫向柳边孤负月。闲过了，总成痴。种花事业无人问，惜花情绪只天知。笑山中：云出早，鸟归迟。
译文：冬天：不要辜负了那竹上的雪；春天，不要辜负了那柳边的月。过闲的人，总有些痴。种花之事无人问津，与花相对的意味，只有老天明了。好笑的是那山中：云，早早的出去；鸟，迟迟地归来。——竟是这般的忙碌！
注释：“惜花”句：辛弃疾《摸鱼儿·更能消几番风雨》：“更能消、几番风雨。匆匆春又归去。惜春长恨花开早，何况落红无数。”

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
