红尘紫陌，斜阳暮草长安道，是离人。断魂处，迢迢匹马西征。新晴。韶光明媚，轻烟淡薄和气暖，望花村。路隐映，摇鞭时过长亭。愁生。伤凤城仙子，别来千里重行行。又记得、临歧泪眼，湿莲脸盈盈。
译文：通往京城的道路上红尘飞扬，落日余晖中，芳草凄凄的长安古道上，满是游子行人。让人断魂的地方，游宦的人万里迢迢西征。天初晴，风和日丽，阳光明媚，和气暖心，抬望眼见那如花的乡村。花草树木掩映着道路，挥鞭之时已过长亭。愁从心生，悲伤地怀念在京城的情人，现在已远在千里之外了。还记得送别时，两个人手握着手相互凝望，她莲花般的红艳脸庞被盈盈泪水打湿，叫人刻骨铭心。
注释：红尘：飞扬的尘土，形容繁华热闹。紫陌：指京城的道路。断魂：灵魂从肉体离散,指爱得很深或十分苦恼、哀伤。迢迢：形容遥远。韶光：美好的春光。和气：清和的空气。隐映：指路被草木隐蔽掩映。长亭：古时每隔十里设在路旁的亭舍，常用作行人休憩和饯别之处。凤城：据传，秦穆公有女名弄玉，能吹箫引凤，凤凰曾降落京城，遂京城又名“丹凤城”。后常以“凤城“称呼京城。行行：行而又行。莲脸：比喻女子的脸容如莲花一般红艳娇媚。盈盈：形容泪水清澈晶莹。
消凝。花朝月夕，最苦冷落银屏。想媚容、耿耿无眠，屈指已算回程。相萦。空万般思忆，争如归去睹倾城。向绣帏、深处并枕，说如此牵情。
译文：转而念及两人分离后，每到良辰美景，她一定凄冷清苦无比，辗转难眠，也许已然将我的归期屈指算好。情意绵绵无限，二人空有万般的追思回忆，真的不如尽量早归，好与日思夜慕的情人相会。绣帐帷幕里，二人同眠共枕，我将那别离后的万般思念和千般牵挂，对她一一诉说。
注释：消凝：销魂凝神，形容辗转思念。花朝月夕：良辰美景。耿耿：烦躁不安貌。萦：牵绊。争如：怎如。倾城：指绝世美女，此处指心上人。

柳永，（约987年—约1053年）北宋著名词人，婉约派代表人物。汉族，崇安（今福建武夷山）人，原名三变，字景庄，后改名永，字耆卿，排行第七，又称柳七。宋仁宗朝进士，官至屯田员外郎，故世称柳屯田。他自称“奉旨填词柳三变”，以毕生精力作词，并以“白衣卿相”自诩。其词多描绘城市风光和歌妓生活，尤长于抒写羁旅行役之情，创作慢词独多。铺叙刻画，情景交融，语言通俗，音律谐婉，在当时流传极其广泛，人称“凡有井水饮处，皆能歌柳词”，婉约派最具代表性的人物之一，对宋词的发展有重大影响，代表作 《雨霖铃》《八声甘州》。
