我又南行矣！笑今年、鸾飘凤泊，情怀何似？纵使文章惊海内，纸上苍生而已。似春水、干卿何事？暮雨忽来鸿雁杳，莽关山、一派秋声里。催客去，去如水。
译文：我又向南方出发了！可笑今年如此飘泊不定，心中情怀到底如何？纵然文章能在世间引起轰动，也不过是在纸面上妄谈民生罢了，对现实社会起不了影响。像那吹皱一池春水的春风一样，能起什么作用？傍晚时分，忽然下起雨来，天空中雁影不见。萧瑟秋声中，只见关山一片苍茫。
注释：鸾飘凤泊：比喻英俊之士落魄沉沦，亦兼寓夫妻离别意。卿：你，作者自谓。
华年心绪从头理，也何聊、看潮走马，广陵吴市。愿得黄金三百万，交尽美人名士。更结尽、燕邯侠子。来岁长安春事早，劝杏花、断莫相思死。木叶怨，罢论起。
译文：细细分析我青春的心态，也曾经愿意像家乡的名人吴越王钱镠一样，在广陵吴市骑骏马，赏钱塘潮，过着奢侈的生活。我希望得到大量的金钱，来尽情地和天下美人名士相交，更要去认识燕赵地区的豪侠之士。明年北京的春天，还是会早早到来吧，劝那北京的杏花，务必不要因为苦苦地思念我而憔悴。我写下的木叶词，惹起了众多的和作，都是要罢官休隐江湖的议论啊。
注释：聊：愿意。广陵：今江苏扬州。吴市：指苏州，与扬州皆当时吴越之地的大都会。燕邯侠子：燕指古燕国，国都为蓟（北京），邯指河北邯郸，为赵国都城。古称燕赵之地多侠士，故以为代称。断莫：千万不要。木叶：树叶。木叶怨似指飘落之悲。罢论：罢休之论，指作罢了经国纬世之志，誓愿隐逸草野江湖。

龚自珍（1792年8月22日～1841年9月26日）清代思想家、文学家及改良主义的先驱者。27岁中举人，38岁中进士。曾任内阁中书、宗人府主事和礼部主事等官职。主张革除弊政，抵制外国侵略，曾全力支持林则徐禁除鸦片。48岁辞官南归，次年暴卒于江苏丹阳云阳书院。他的诗文主张“更法”、“改图”，揭露清统治者的腐朽，洋溢着爱国热情，被柳亚子誉为“三百年来第一流”。著有《定庵文集》，留存文章300余篇，诗词近800首，今人辑为《龚自珍全集》。著名诗作《己亥杂诗》共315首。
