万马不嘶，一声寒角，令行柳营。见秋原如掌，枪刀突出，星驰铁骑，阵势纵横。人在油幢，戎韬总制，羽扇从容裘带轻。君知否，是山西将种，曾系诗盟。
译文：演习场上，军纪严明，军容肃整，万马齐喑。随着一声号角声响，全军立即开始行动。秋日的平原如同手掌，而那枪林刀丛则像手指一样突出挺立其上，队队铁骑奔驰，速度快如流星；队形纵横，变化莫测。而检阅官张路分正端坐在油幢军帐之中，他按照兵法指挥着外面的千军万马，手执羽扇，神态从容，身着轻裘缓带，大有儒将之风。诸君可否知道，此人（张路分）不但是天生的将种，还颇富文才诗情。
注释：沁园春：词牌名，又名《寿星明》、《洞庭春色》等。双调一百十四字，平韵。星驰铁骑：带甲的骑兵如流星般奔驰。油幢：油布制的帐幕。戎韬总制：以兵法来部勒指挥。戎韬指的是兵法。羽扇从容：三国时诸葛亮常手执羽扇，从容指挥战事。裘带轻：即轻裘缓带，用羊祜故事。山西将种：古人认为华山以西之地是出将才的地方。
龙蛇纸上飞腾。看落笔四筵风雨惊。便尘沙出塞，封侯万里，印金如斗，未惬平生。拂拭腰间，吹毛剑在，不斩楼兰心不平。归来晚，听随军鼓吹，已带边声。
译文：他文思敏捷，诗才横溢，书写时笔走龙蛇，落笔后则风雨为之惊，四座为之倾。他征战沙场，立下赫赫战功，万里封候，印金如斗，但这些并不足以平心意。他时时在拭擦腰间的宝剑，决意要驱散金兵，将那金人首领拿下斩首，否则就心意不能平。傍晚归来，那随军乐队所演奏的鼓乐，听起来却已经带上了那沙场上的边声。
注释：龙蛇：喻书法。惬：满足，畅快。吹毛剑：指锋利的剑。楼兰：此指金统治者。

刘过（1154～1206）南宋文学家，字改之，号龙洲道人。吉州太和（今江西泰和县）人，长于庐陵（今江西吉安），去世于江苏昆山，今其墓尚在。四次应举不中，流落江湖间，布衣终身。曾为陆游、辛弃疾所赏，亦与陈亮、岳珂友善。词风与辛弃疾相近，抒发抗金抱负狂逸俊致，与刘克庄、刘辰翁享有“辛派三刘”之誉，又与刘仙伦合称为“庐陵二布衣”。有《龙洲集》、《龙洲词》。
