三复来贶，欲罢不能。自尔邻曲，冬春再交，欵然良对，忽成旧游。俗谚云：“数面成亲旧。”况情过此者乎？人事好乖，便当语离，杨公所叹，岂惟常悲？吾抱疾多年，不复为文；本既不丰，复老病继之。辄依《周礼》往复之义。且为别后相思之资。
译文：我再三拜读您的赠诗，爱不释手。自从我们成为邻居，已经过了两个冬春交替了；时常诚挚愉快地交谈，我们很快就成为了老朋友。俗话说：“几次见面便成至亲老友”，更何况我们的交情又远比这深厚呢？人生常常事与愿违，现在又要彼此话别，正如杨朱临歧而叹，哪里只是一般的悲哀！我抱病多年，不再写诗；体质本来就差，又加上年老多病。就按照《周礼》所说“礼尚往来”的道理，同时也作为别后相思时的慰藉，写下这首诗。
注释：参军：古代官职名，是王、相或将军的军事幕僚。三复来贶：再三展读所赠之诗。来贶，送来的赠品，这里指庞参军所赠的诗。贶，赠送。自尔邻曲：自从那次我们为邻。尔：那，如此。邻曲，邻居。冬春再交：冬天和春天再次相交。横跨两个年头，实际只一年多。再，第二次。欵然：诚恳的样子。良对：愉快地交谈。对：对话、交谈。忽：形容很快。旧游：犹言“故友”。游；交游，游从。数面：几次见面，成亲旧：成为至亲好友。好乖：容易分离。这里有事与愿违之意。乖，违背。便当：即将要。语离：话别。杨公所叹：杨公指战国初哲学家杨朱。所叹：指所感叹离别之意，亦寓有各奔前程之意。岂惟常悲：哪里只是一般的悲哀。为文：指作诗。六朝以有韵为文，无韵为笔。本：指体质。丰：指强壮。辄依：就按照。资：凭借，寄托。
相知何必旧，倾盖定前言。
译文：相互知心何必老友，倾盖如故足证此言。
注释：相知：相互友好，互为知音。旧：旧交，旧友。倾盖：盖指车盖，状如伞。定前言：证明前面所说的“数面成亲旧”、“相知何必旧”是对的。
有客赏我趣，每每顾林园。
译文：您能欣赏我的志趣，经常光顾我的林园。
注释：客：指庞参军。顾：光顾。林园：指作者所居住的地方。
谈谐无俗调，所说圣人篇。
译文：谈话投机毫不俗气，共同爱好先圣遗篇。
注释：谈谐：彼此谈话投机。说：同“悦”，喜欢。圣人篇：圣贤经典。
或有数斗酒，闲饮自欢然。
译文：偶尔酿得美酒数斗，悠闲对饮心自欢然。
注释：或：有时，间或。闲：悠闲。
我实幽居士，无复东西缘；
译文：我本是个隐居之人，奔走求仕与我无缘。
注释：幽居士：隐居之人。东西：指为求仕而东西奔走。缘：缘分。
物新人惟旧，弱毫多所宣。
译文：时世虽变旧友可贵，常常写信以释悬念。
注释：物新：事物更新，诗中寓有晋宋易代之意。人惟旧：人以旧识为可贵，谓继续保持我们的友谊。弱毫：指毛笔。多所宣：多多写信。宣，表达，指写信。
情通万里外，形迹滞江山；
译文：情谊能通万里之外，虽然阻隔万水千山。
注释：形迹：形体，指人身。滞江山：为江山所滞。滞，不流通，谓阻隔。
君其爱体素，来会在何年！
译文：但愿先生保重贵体，将来相会知在何年？
注释：体素：即素体，犹言“玉体”，对别人身体的美称。来会：将来相会。

陶渊明（约365年—427年），字元亮，（又一说名潜，字渊明）号五柳先生，私谥“靖节”，东晋末期南朝宋初期诗人、文学家、辞赋家、散文家。汉族，东晋浔阳柴桑人（今江西九江）。曾做过几年小官，后辞官回家，从此隐居，田园生活是陶渊明诗的主要题材，相关作品有《饮酒》、《归园田居》、《桃花源记》、《五柳先生传》、《归去来兮辞》等。
