南北朝：萧衍
河中之水向东流，洛阳女儿名莫愁。
译文：黄河的水啊向东流，洛阳有个美丽的女孩叫莫愁。
注释：河：指黄河。洛阳距黄河很近，故以此起兴，引出下句。
莫愁十三能织绮，十四采桑南陌头。
译文：当初莫愁十三岁，就能织出精美的丝绸。十四岁不辞劳苦去采桑，提笼攀枝到那田间地头。
注释：绮：有花纹的丝织品。南陌头：南边小路旁。
十五嫁于卢家妇，十六生儿字阿侯。
译文：十五岁的莫愁嫁到了卢家，十六岁就生了儿子叫阿侯。
注释：卢郎妇：一作“卢家妇”。字阿侯：原作“似阿侯”，据《玉台新咏》、《艺文类聚》改。
卢家兰室桂为梁，中有郁金苏合香。
译文：卢家的房屋富丽堂皇，闺房兰馨雅洁桂木为梁，四处散发郁金苏合香的芬芳。
注释：兰室：古代女子居室的美称。犹“兰闺”、“香闺”。桂作梁：形容居室华贵芳香。桂：桂树，极芳香。梁：屋梁。郁金、苏合：两种名贵的香料。郁金：出古大秦国（古罗马帝国）；苏合：出古大食国（古波斯帝国）。
头上金钗十二行，足下丝履五文章。
译文：莫愁头上光彩熠熠，金钗排成十二行。脚下轻踏丝绣鞋，五彩斑斓描出花纹状。
注释：丝履：绣花丝鞋，是古时富有的标志。五文章：五色花纹。一说，五，古作“夏”，有纵横交互之章。亦通“午”，一纵一横交错。
珊瑚挂镜烂生光，平头奴子擎履箱。
译文：珊瑚枝镶嵌的支架上，化妆镜璀璨生光。带着平头巾的奴仆，为她提着履箱往来奔忙。
注释：挂镜：古代镜子常挂于壁上，故称“挂镜”。平头奴子：不戴冠巾的奴仆。擎：一作“提”。履箱：不详何物，一说为藏履之箱，亦可指鞋子和箱子。
人生富贵何所望，恨不嫁与东家王。
译文：人生富贵荣华哪值得留恋？直叫人悔恨：没有早嫁给东邻王郎。
注释：望：怨，怨恨。东家王：指东邻姓王的意中人。按：唐上官仪、元稹、李商隐、韩俚诸人诗文都指实“东家王”为王昌。

梁高祖武皇帝萧衍（464年－549年），字叔达，小字练儿。南兰陵郡武进县东城里（今江苏省丹阳市访仙镇）人。南北朝时期梁朝政权的建立者。萧衍是兰陵萧氏的世家子弟，为汉朝相国萧何的二十五世孙。父亲萧顺之是齐高帝的族弟，封临湘县侯，官至丹阳尹知事，母张尚柔。他原来是南齐的官员，南齐中兴二年（502年），齐和帝被迫“禅位”于萧衍，南梁建立。萧衍在位时间达四十八年，在南朝的皇帝中列第一位。在位颇有政绩，在位晚年爆发“侯景之乱”，都城陷落，被侯景囚禁，死于台城，享年八十六岁，葬于修陵，谥为武帝，庙号高祖。
